Area of Refuge indicated on site plan. A minimum of 30"x40" (possible two spaces required) clear space required outside the required landing. Stairs shall have a minimum clear width 48" handrail to handrail. Signage as required per ANSI for identification required. Required Exit shall not exceed maximum travel distance listed in T 1016.1. Max travel distance cannot exceed that listed in Table 1016.1. Fire department access maybe required around perimeter of building if height of storage exceeds 12' in height. If building does not meet the exceptions for increased travel distance, additional accessible exits may be required along perimeter of building. Smoke and heat vents as required per Section 910.
