Other Code that applies is IBC /ANSI Al 17.1 -03 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities. Proposed two story new veterinarian office building shall meet height and area of T503 IBC with allowable increases. Building is required to be equipped with an accessible route to each floor level due to area and use as per Chap 11 IBC All required egress shall comply with ANSI Handicap. Exterior exit stairs shall be designed as an exterior area of refuge per Section 1007.8 which requires the exterior wall to be rated for one hour. Sidewalks, curbramps, and parking appear to meet accessibility_ Handicap parking shown as required by T1106.1. HC Parking Signage per USBC 1106.8. HC parking and walkways shall not exceed 2% slope. Walkways exceeding 2% slope shall be designed as handicap ramps. Handicap ramps shall be designed per ANSI A117.1 -03 with a maximum slope 1:12. Ramps exceeding 6" in height shall have handrails/guardrails per code. Present entrance is adequate for proposed improvements. Should business ever expand in the future, entrance may need to be upgraded.
