Buildings shall comply with The Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and section 309, use
group M (Mercantile) and Sections 311(S Storage) of the International Building Code, and The
2006 International Existing Building Code. Other Code that applies is ICC ANSI A 117.1 -3 -03
Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities.
Proposed partial change of use in existing B- Business/S -Storage to M- Merchantile, for
showroom operation. Remodeling existing restroom for ANSI accessibility and adding
accessible parking/route to access showroom area. Upgrade on ANSI parking 20% ANSI rule
applies. Please identify Van Accessible signage (site indicate car parking)
Accessible route shall maintain 2% (1.20) slope. Please indicate elevation marks along
unloading area and sidewalklentrance area.
Asbestos Inspection required for remodeling of all structures built prior to 1985
1/4/11 see Van accessible signage details returned for informational purposes. Min signage
height of accessible signage is 18 ". VAN ACCESSIBLE SIGNAGE is required for
identification. Fine fee incorrect and should be $100 -500. See attached details.
Signage shall be corrected for final inspection.
