. MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL
of the
FREDERICK COUNTY PLANNIG
Held in the County Court House,
MEETING
COMMISSION
December 20, 1971
A Special Meeting of the Frederick County Planning
Commission was held jointly with the Board of Supervisors for
the duly advertised purpose of conducting a Public Hearing
on the Proposed Zoning Ordinance. The Chairman called the
Planning Commission to order at 6:35 P.M.
PRESENT: James W. Golladay, Charles E. Bass, Donald L.
Baughman, Maurice W. Perry, Elmer Venskoske,
Grover Teets, Jr., and George Shanks. Also
Don E. Krueger and Roy Jennings.
ABSENT : Keith Williams
Prior to the start of the Public Hearing the Executive Secretary
of the Board of Supervisors and the Acting Commonwealth Attorney
stated legal aspects concerning two prior ordinances which had
been passed stating further that in their opinion and the opinion
of the Attorney General's Office the 1961 Zoning Ordinance was
still in effect even though a subsequent Zoning Ordinance had been
enacted as Emergency Legislation on October 25, 1971.
Mr. Baughman acting as a Supervisor then moved to end the
Public Hearing and refer the Proposed Ordinance to the Planning
Commission for additional study.
Mr. Bass then moved that the Planning Commssion accept Mr.
Baughman's motion. Mr. Bass' motion was seconded by Mr. Venskoske
and passed.
The Board of Supervisors then acted upon Mr. Baughman's motion
and approved same.
The Public Hearing having ended the floor was then opened to
the citizens in attendance for their recommendations concerning
the proposed Ordinance.
After hearing the recommendations the Meeting was closed at
8:15 P.M.
Upon motion of Mr. Venskoske, seconded by Mr. Shanks and
passed the meeting was adjourned.
