PC_04-24-68_Meeting_Minutes_Special_MeetingI — 66 — MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF A SUB - COMMITTEE OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION Held April 24th, 1968 at 4:00 o'clock, P.M. in the County Office Building Present: J. W. Golladay, Chairman; C. E. Bass; C. L. Ritter; and J. A. Massie, Jr., Secretary. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. Whereupon House Bill 113 of the 1968 General Assembly, which had been passed, was read. After due consideration and discussion, the Committee recommends that the petition of Hughes and Shenandoah Brick and Tile Corporation for re- zoning from A -1 and B -2 to M -2 of that certain parcel of land containing approximately 202 Acres, just North of Virginia Route No. 7, and East of Interstate Route No. 81, be accepted and IN recommended to the Board of Supa•visors, conditioned further upon the applicant abiding by the terms and conditions and provisions of House Bill 113 of the General Assembly of 1968, prior to and after its effective date. Wendell Seldon presented a letter to J. W. Golladay, Chairman, wherein they request the re- zoning of 11 foot length on each end of the runway of the Winchester Airport. No specification was set for the width of this area, which is for the approach of airplanes, or of the names of the property owners involved. It was recommended that the Secretary write the City, and ask them for a plat of the approach areas to the Airport, showing the desired length and width of the approach area to be re- zoned, and also the names of the property owners involved. The Committee recommended that the Zoning Administrator. be authorized to issue a non - conforming use to the City of Winchester for the Airport,as it is in an M -2 area.
