. Materials used and method of construction shall apply to current observed VDOT Road & Bridge
Specifications applicable during construction of this development.
• Our review and comments are general in nature. Should conditions in the field exist such that additional
measures are warranted, such measures shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Department prior
to inclusion into the Secondary Road System.
. Attached is a copy of the minimum requirements and information needed prior to acceptance of
subdivision streets into the Secondary System. This is the responsibility of the developer.
. All drainage is to be carried within the right-of-way in ditch lines or gutters along the street to a pipe or
drainage easement.
. The contractor shall notify VDOT when work is to begin or 'cease for any undetermined length of time.
VDOT will also require 48 hours notice for inspections.
. No apparent need for VDOT land use permit. Exercise appropriate care at VDOT access.
. If mailboxes are to be placed along the roadway fronting lots, a minimum of 4' shall be between the
edge of pavement and the front of mailbox as shown on the USPS sketches and VDOT Standard RFD-1.

Dear Mr. Seward:
We have completed our review of the revisions to the subject subdivision plan submitted
March 20, 2007. We have no issues with the increase in water surface elevation of the 100-year
storm from the existing conditions to proposed conditions, associated with the proposed box
culvert. We therefore recommend approval of the revised subdivision plan.

Dear Kevin:
Upon review of the revised subdivision plan submitted October 10, 2006, all of our
previous comments have been addressed. Therefore, we recommend approval of the revised
subdivision plan.
Please note that the slope stability analysis for slopes which are greater than 3:1 will be
required prior to Land Disturbance Permit approval. If grading changes are required in order to
achieve stability, a revised site plan must be submitted.
