As I said, Marathon Drive is now eligible for inclusion into the State's Secondary Road Systed and may be added if so requested by the Frederick County Board of Supervisors through resolution. I offer the following information pending addition: Marathon Drive (50' R/W) Battlefield Partnership Development From: Intersection with Route 11 To: 703.41' or 0.13 Mile Southeast of Intersection with Route 11 Length: 703.41' or 0.13 Mile Total length of addition is 703.41' or 0.13 mile. I have enclosed for your use a copy of information needed prior to the acceptance of subdivision streets into the State's Secondary System. Please be reminded in addition a permit from Shenandoah Gas Company to cover their existing facilities, a deed of quitclaim will also be required to release their 10' gas easement which falls within the rights -of -way of Marathon Drive and Sulky Drive. A bond to guarantee workmanship and performance of materials in the amount of $3, 750.00 for a period of one (1) year from the date of acceptance will be required. I have also enclosed for your use an example of an irrevocable letter of credit and insurance bond form. In addition a fee will be required to cover our maintenance costs of the street from the addition date to the end of our fiscal year. As discussed the amount of this fee can be determined once the addition date is selected. Should you have any questions concerning the above or if I can be of further assistance, please let me know. However, there are several discrepancies/problems with the remaining permit applications: Frederick County Sanitation Authority & Shenandoah Gas: The applications appear to be in order, however, there were no plans or profiles submitted with them. C & P Telephone & Adelphia Cable Communications: No permit application were received to cover their facilities. In addition to the above two (2) sets of as -built construction plans, a maintenance fee and one (1) year guarantee bond will be required. The amount of the fee is based on the length of the street to be added and the date of the addition. We feel it would be fruitless at this point to establish a maintenance fee amount until the developer provides us with the above information. For your use I am enclosing a copy of a letter to the developer, Mr. Richard Hardison, dated May 29, 1992 explaining our requirements for the addition.
