It would appear January 1, 1999 would be a practical target date for this addition. In this case, a maintenance fee in the amount of $375.00 will be required. This should be in check form made payable to the Virginia Department of Transportation. Also, surety will be necessary to guarantee workmanship and performance of materials in the amount of $7500.00 for a period of one year from the date of acceptance. The surety instrument should be dated January 1, 1999 until January 1, 2000. To meet the January 1, 1999 addition date, the required maintenance fee and surety will need to be received in this office by December 1, 1998.
