As proposed, the Triton PCS facility will include up to six antennas attached to the structure at an elevation no greater than ten feet above the existing sign. Triton PCS equipment will be placed on a concrete pad at the base of the sign. This site is located in an area zoned B2 (Business, General District). At this location, commercial telecommunication facilities locating on existing structures or towers are exempt from the conditional use permit requirements of the Frederick County Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 165-48.6 Commercial Telecommunication Facilities); therefore, no further zoning action is required. The proposed addition of telecommunications facilities satisfies the a licable provisions of the Augusta County Zoning Ordinance. The tower was app ved for co -location under special use permit #97-14. Consequently, no further zoning action, by the County, is necessary for the co -location of Triton's antenna and support equipment on this tower.
