REVIEW EVALUATIONS:
Virginia Dept. of Transportation: No objection to conditional
use permit for this property. Existing entrance is adequate
for proposed use. However, should use ever expand in the
future, the entrance may have to be upgraded to VDOT minimum
commercial standards.
Fire Marshal: Approved by Office of Fire Marshal
Inspections Department: Building shall comply with the
Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and shall comment on
Use Group at the time of building plans review
Health Department: Drainfield found to accommodate business.
Health Dept. has no objection to relocation of business.
Planning & Zoning: The DeHavens currently operate their
business from a location along Route 522N just north of Hogue
Creek. Mr. DeHaven's father started a well drilling business
there many years ago so it has continued to operate as a legal
nonconforming business. The DeHavens now desire to move the
business to their farm located off Route 682. The new
location appears to be ideal since it is totally screened from
view by the topography. Mr. DeHaven advises that he intends
to erect a building approximately 30X50 to use as a service
area for his well drilling operation. He also intends to
reduce the size of his operation from two rigs to one.
Staffs opinion is that this would be a very acceptable
location for this business.

1. This permit will be reviewed and renewed annually.
2. If the business is to expand or additional employees are
hired, a new conditional use permit will be required.
