REASON FOR VARIANCE: Carport was constructed in violation of
required setbacks.
STAFF COMMENTS: Application for a building permit, for the
structure in violation, was made on June 16, 1992. This permit
states that the right setback would be 16 feet. Following
construction of the structure it was determined that it was in fact
only 9 feet from the side property line with 15 feet being the
required setback. Allowing this violation to exist does not appear
to have any negative impact on the adjoining property or the
neighborhood. I have been advised that the adjoining property
owner on the side nearest the structure has no objections to this.
STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: Approval is recommended.
