REASON FOR VARIANCE - The applicant states that the location of the
old farm house near the property line makes the available spare too
narrow and the topography and location of the septic system makes
other areas on the property difficult or impractical. The applicant
states that the topography indicates that adjacent properties will
not be improved close to the location of his proposed garage.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION - The applicant is seeking a 10' side yard
variance for a detached 12' X 20' garage. The A-1 (Agricultural
Limited) Zoning District requires a 15' distance from the property
line for accessory structures such as this. The garage is 5' from
the property line, therfore, a 10' variance is needed.
STAFF COMMENT - A building permit has been issued pending Board of
Zoning Appeals action at the owner's own risk.
