All required information must be submitted prior to the final approval of any site plan. The Department of Planning and Development will review the application to ensure that it is complete. It is unfortunate we were unable to find a suitable location for the desired stone sign at the Route 277/ Warrior Drive intersection. However, I am happy the Boosters were satisfied with an on -site location. As discussed, we will be proceeding with the installation of an additional sign indicating "Sherando High School" with a directional arrow on the Route 277 west bound approach (or north side) to Warrior Drive within the next several weeks. The sign will be identical to the existing sign on the south side of the roadway. Unfortunately, the current signal design (span wire) will not allow us to install an overhead Warrior Drive sign. However, when Route 277 is upgraded at some future date, we intend on modifying the signal to a mast arm system. This will then allow for an overhead sign. In the interim though I have asked our District Signal Engineer to explore the possibility of a side mounted street name sign to the north side signal pole. if possibie this could be instaiied when this pole is relocated in conjunction with the Warrior Drive intersection, which could possibly occur this summer. We hope these interim measures meet the needs of the Boosters by adequately identifying where the school is located. Please give me a call if I can be of any further assistance. The approved site plan calls for the construction of an addition to the existing building that will provide an additional 16,700 square feet of classroom and mechanical space, the provision of a new paved parking area to contain 23 regular parking spaces and one disabled parking space with appropriate signage, the installation of new concrete sidewalks and concrete curbing, the relocation of a gas service line, a water line, a fire hydrant, and a lighting fixture, the removal of existing concrete curbing, concrete sidewalk, an underground electric line, pine trees, wooden storage sheds, and an inlet and catch basin, and all appropriate erosion and sedimentation control measures. I have provided you with three copies of the approved site plan. Please provide an approved site plan to the contractor to maintain on -site, an approved copy to the design engineer, and maintain an approved copy for your records.
