4 a;, M { y V STENEWALL INDUSTRIAL PARK ec-eric-K, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES: 1. The contractor shall furnish all materials, labor and equipment and perform all work including restoration for the completed installation of the utility systems and all other improvements shown or implied as necessary for the completed facility ready for use. Unless otherwise noted, specifications for all work to be in accordance with applicable Standards and Construction Specifications of the Virginia Department of "Transportation, Virginia Department of Health, Frederick County Sanitation Authority and the contract documents. 2. The engineer has attempted to locate existing subsurface utilities; however, such may exist that are not shown. The contractor shall exercise care in this work so as to avoid damage to any utilities. Any damage shall be the contractor's responsibility. The contractor shall notify all utility companies 72 hours prior to construction. Call "Miss Utility" 1-800-257-7777, 3. The contractor shall be responsible for all construction stakeout. All dimensions, elevations and locations shall be verifiecl in the field by each contractor prior to beginning the work. The Engineer will approve all cut sheeits. 4. Any unusual substurface conditions encountered during the course of the work shall be immediately brought to the attention of the Engineer and/or the Owner. 4, 5. All grading for improvements to be confined to the project area. Any work performed offsite is the Contractor's responsibility. 6. Contractor to obtain, at his expense, all permits required of this work and shall faithfully adhere to the permit conditions imposed. 7. Temporary and permanent erosion control structures and methods to be in accordance with the Virginia Erosion Control Guidelines and local ordinances and to be utilized during the construction period. 8. All erosion control structures shown or as required during construction shall be continuously maintained throughout the period in which areas are denuded. Areas shown to be surfaced are to have stone base installed at the earliest possible date after establishing -grade. No area is to remain denuded for more than 30 calendar days when construction is not in progress. 9. All unpaved areas of the site which are disturbed by this construction shall be provided with 4" topsoil, fertilized, seeded, compacted and mulched. Seed bed to be watered and cared for as necessary to provide a good lawn quality grass cover. Areas not ,graded shall be disced, leveled and seeded to achieve lawn conditions. 10. Water and sewer lines are to be constructed in accordance with these plans and specifications and shall additionally meet all requirements of the Frederick County Sanitation Authority. The contractor shall coordinate with this agency and arrange for inspection by the County as necessary. 11. Contractor to clean up and restore disturbed areas immediately upon completion of pipe -laying in the affected area. 12. Exact locations for sewer and water services to be directed by the Frederick County Sanitation Authority Inspector in the field. Contractor to provide assistance as the Inspector may require in this effort. 13. Design features relating to construction or to regulation, control and safety of traffic may be subject to change as deemed necessary by V.D.O.T. 14. All fill, base and subsurface material shall be compacted to 95% of theoretical maximum density as determined by AASHO T-99 method A, within plus or minus 2% of optimum moisture for the full width of any dedicated right-of-way. Compaction in other areas to be 90%. 15. Vegetation Plan: All grass areas to be seeded with a mixture of Merion Kentucky Bluegrass at a rate of 2-3 lbs. per 1,000 square feet and Annual Rye at a rate of 1 lb. per 1,000 square feet. Newly seeded areas shall be mulched. at a rate of 70-120 lbs. per 1,000 square feet. Adequate watering and fertilization are required to aid the emergence of new .grass. 16. Cutsheets shall be submitted to the hngineer for approval prior to construction. All cutshects should show existing ground elevations at centerline of utility, structure or road, and offset hub elevation. 17. The location of the tap and the termination point of the lateral are to be coordinated with Authoritys assistant engineer. 20. The Sanitation Authority shall tap all existing water lines. They will furnish the materials for and make the tap. The contractor must make application for and pay the cost of this work. 21. A double check valve backfl'ow, prevention assembly is to be installed. on any line (tire or domestic) that goes into a building. The assembly is to meet ASSE Standard No. 101.5 or 1013.. If the assembly is mounted Inside building, a remote readout is required. 22. The Sanitation Authority maintenance department is responsible for the installation of water meters. Before a permanent meter is set, they require; 1) the frame and cover to be properly aligned with its meter box and yoke bar; 2) the frame and cover to be set to the final grade of the lot; 3) the distance between the top of the cover and the yoke bar be between 18 and 21 inches; and,4) all components of the meter box assembly to be in proper working order.lt is the developer's/contractor's responsibility to have the meter box assembly installed correctly. The contractor shall furnish all materials, labor and equipment and perform all work including restoration for the completed installation of the utility systems and all other improvements shown or implied as necessary for the completed facility ready for use. Unless otherwise noted, specifications for all work to be in accordance with applicable Standards and Construction Specifications of the Virginia Department of Transportation, Virginia Department of Health, Frederick County Sanitation Authority and the contract documents. 2. The engineer has attempted to locate existing subsurface utilities; however, such may exist that are not shown. The contractor shall exeircise care in this work so as to avoid damage to any utilities. Any damage shall be the contractor's responsibility. The contractor shall notify all utility companies 72 hours prior to construction. Call "Miss Utility" 1-800-257-7777. 3. The contractor shall be responsible for all construction stakeout. Temporary and permanent erosion control structures and methods to be in accordance with the Virginia Erosion Control Guidelines and local ordinances and to be utilized during the construction period. 8. All erosion control structures shown or as required during construction shall be continuously maintained throughout the period in which areas are denuded. ,Areas shown to be surfaced are to have stone base installed at the earliest possible date after establishing grade. No area is to remain denuded for more than 30 calendar days when construction is not in progress. 9. All unpaved areas of the site which are disturbed by this construction shall be provided with 4" topsoil, fertilized, seeded, compacted and mulched. Seed bed to be watered and cared for as necessary to provide a good lawn quality grass cover. Areas not graded shall be disced, leveled and seeded to achieve lawn conditions. 10. Water and sewer lines are to be constructed in accordance with these plans and specifications and shall additionally meet all requirements of the Frederick County Sanitation Authority. The contractor shalt coordinate with this agency and arrange for inspection by the County as necessary. II. Contractor to clean up and restore disturbed areas immediately upon completion of pipe -laying in the affected area. 12. Exact locations for sewer and water services to be directed by the Frederick County Sanitation Authority Inspector in the field. Contractor to provide assistance as the Inspector may require in this effort. 13. Design features relating to construction or to regulation, control and safety of traffic may be subject to change as deemed necessary by V.D.O.T. 14. All fill, base and subsurface material shall be compacted to 95% of theoretical maximum density as determined by AASHO T-99 method A, within plus or minus 2% of optimum moisture for the full width of any dedicated right-of-way. Compaction in other areas to be 90%. 15. Vegetation Plan: All grass areas to be seeded with a mixture of Merion Kentucky Bluegrass at a rate of 2-3 lbs. per 1,000 square feet and Annual Rye at a rate of 1 lb. per 1,000 square feet.. Newly seeded areas shall be mulched at a rate of 70-120 lbs. per 1,000 square feet. Adequatewatering and fertilization are required to aid the emergence of new grass. 16. Cutsheets shall be submitted to the Engineer for approval prior to construction. All cutsheets should show existing ground elevations at centerline of utility, structure or road, and offset hub elevation. 17.
