Per our conversation on December 30", 1 have included the following information for a revised plan
for the Trash Center rompactor privacy screen fence. As I understand, County code requires that
this fence be constructed of wood. Frederick County re -cycling centers have privacy fences
constructed of chain linked fence material with solid plastic slots. I feel that this material is more
suitable than wood construction. The Lake Holiday dumpster will be pulled 3X pet week by large
trucks and a gate constructed of wood I feel will not hold up. Will you consider waiving the wood
construction requirement for the gate section, if wood slots were used on chain link?
Proposed front and side gate construction:

o Standard metal chain link fence material with wood slots bolted to the exterior of the gate.
The wood slot's would be of the same material and dimensions as the 6' perimeter wood
privacy fence specified in the approved plan. The 6' H perimeter fence/screen will be board
on batten with cap board.

approval can be granted. At this time, administrative apl)i'oval cannot be granted. This site plan
is denied until the issue in this letter, as well as all issues of the other review agencies, has been
adequately addressed. Please review Staffs comment listed below and then prepare a revised site
plan which adequately addresses the concern.
Dumpster. Outside trash containers need to be appropriately screened and enclosed by
an opaque fence. Provide a profile of the dumpster enclosure.
After you have revised the site plan, please resubmit one copy so that I may verify the
information contained on the plan. I will need all approved review agency comment sheets and at
least five copies of the final plan for approval. Comment sheets are required from the following
agencies: the Frederick County Jnspections Department and the Frederick County Department of

Dear Mr. Gottshall:
Upon review of the subject site plan, we offer the following comments:
I. Cut and fill slopes shall be adequately stabilized. Slopes that are greater than 3:1 will require a maintenance plan.
2. Demonstrate that concentrated stormwater runoff leaving the site discharges directly into an adequate natural or manmade
channel.
3. Demonstrate that two (2)-year runoff from the site does not overtop banks of natural channels and does not cause erosion.
4 . Provide an analysis of the existing and ultimate characteristics of the watershed and provide hydrographs in the Storm
Water Management Report.
5. Provide responsible party and maintenance plan for the proposed detention facilities.
6 . Provide energy dissipaters at the outfall of the detention facility and a more specific design is needed.
7. Show boundaries of different soil types.
8. Provide detail on silt fence. All silt fence shall be wire reinforced.
9. Provide a detail drawing on the SWM pond spillway.
10. Provide the standard MS-19 Erosion and Sediment Control notes on the subject site plan.
Once these comments have been addressed, submit one (I) copy of the plans for further review.
