application. All required information must be submitted prior to the final approval of any site plan.
The Department of Planning and Development will review the application to ensure that it is
complete. If any portion is not included or complete, the site plan application will not be accepted

Dear Mr. Sullivan:
The Frederick County Planning Department administratively approved Site Plan #035-95 for the
James Wood High School on November 17, 1995. The approved site plan calls for several
additions to the existing building that will provide additional classroom, cafeteria, and
mechanical space, the provision of a concrete patio areas, the installation of a concrete
condensing unit pad, the relocation of concrete sidewalks and concrete curbing, the extension
of the gas service line, the removal of the time capsule, and all appropriate erosion and
sedimentation control measures.
I have provided you with two copies of the approved site plan. Please provide an approved site
plan to the contractor to maintain on -site and maintain an approved copy for your records.
Please contact this office to schedule an on -site inspection once all improvements are complete.

I've reviewed the site plan submittal for James Wood IIigh School. The Fire and Rescue
Dept. recommends approval of the plans as submitted, with the following additional
construction notes.
1) The contractor will be held responsible for compliance with the State Fire Prevention
Code withe regards to use of portable heating equipment.
2) Any blasting to be done shall be permitted through the Fire Marshal's Office and will
be strictly monitored.
3) The Fire Marshal's Office shall be notified prior to placing any existing Fire Protection
System or Alarm System Out of service.
4) The burning regulations of Frederick County must be complied with at all times.
5) No hydrants or fire lanes can be blocked at any time by materials or equipment.
6)All existing elements of egress shall be maintained at all times. Any changes necessary
must be approved through the Fire Marshal's Office and the Building Official prior to
changing existing egress ptterns.

We have completed the revisions to the above referenced site plans based on your review letter dated
October 12, 1995. Attached please find five copies of the revised plans. The modifications made
based on your comments will be self-explanatory with the possible exception of the following:
The location map is titled "Vicinity Map" and is included on the Title Sheet, Sheet T1
with this submittal.

15. I have indicated the approximate location of the easement for the gas line which has not
yet been recorded. According to the Frederick County Sanitation Authority, there is no
easement for the sanitary sewer line, although this is in fact a public line.
It is my understanding that the School System has already paid the site plan review fee. I will forward
the review comments / approvals from the other review agencies a soon as I receive them.

Enclosed please find two (2) copies of the site plans and the site plan application for the above
referenced project. This project consists of the construction of 4 small additions to the existing high
school building. The extent of the site work included is some minor grading around the additions,
one short sanitary sewer service line, some roof drain leaders and the relocation of some concrete
walk.
I have sent plans to the Frederick County Engineer, the Frederick County Inspections Office and the
County Fire Marshal for their review. Please let me know if there is anyone else who will need to
review these plans prior to site plan approval.
I appreciate the assistance you have given on the previous projects I have been involved with in
