STORM DRAINAGE ANALYSIS NARRATIVE
STORM DRAINAGE CALCULATION IS USING FREDERICK COUNTY'S CRITERIA FOR
REGULATING THE PEAK FLONS OF POST -DEVELOPED CONDITIONS FOR BOTH
TNO- AND TEN-YEAR STORMS AND TO NOT EXCEED THE PRE -DEVELOPED
PEAK FLONS. THE RATIONAL METHOD WAS USED IN DETERMINING THE PRE -
AND POST -DEVELOPED RUNOFF RATES. HYDRAFLON 2002 PROGRAM WAS
USED FOR ANALYZING THE STORM PEAK DISCHARGE AND CULVERT ROUTING.
RAINFALL HYDROGRAPHS HERE COMPUTED USING FREDERICK COUNTY'S
RAINFALL DURATION. THE POST -DEVELOPI" LENT CONDITIONS WERE TAKEN
FROM THE PROPOSED BUILDING AND PARKING LAYOUT AS SHONN ON THE
SITE PLAN. THE VIRGINIA EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL HAND BOOK AND
VIRGINIA DRAINAGE MANUAL HERE USED FOR DETERMINING THE COEFFICIENTS
OF RUNOFF FOR BOTH PRE -DEVELOPED AND POST -DEVELOPED CONDITIONS.
THE TIME OF CONCENTRATION WAS DETERMINED USING THE TR-55 FOR
PRE -DEVELOPMENT OF SUB AREA A AND B.
TN I S STORM DRAINAGE ANALYSIS 15 PROVIDED TO SHON THE TOTAL PEAK
DISCHARGE AT THE POINT OF STUDY (PRIOR TO THE EXISTING TRIPLE BOX
CULVERTS UNDER INTERSTATE 81. SEE THE OVERALL DRAINAGE DIVIDES
PLAN) FOR BOTH PRE- AND POST -DEVELOPMENT.
IN CONCLUSION:
THE TOTAL POST -DEVELOPED PEAK DISCHARGE FOR SUB AREA A1, A2 AND
