The checklist below indicates all the information that needs to be submitted as part of the site plan
application. All required information must be submitted priorto the final approval of any site plan. The
Department of Planning and Development will review the application to ensuro that it is complete. If
any portion is not included or complete, the site plan application will not be accepted and returned to
the applicant(s).

1. One set of approved comment sheets are required from the following review
agencies prior to final site plan approval. It is recommended that applicants contact
the Department of Planning and Development to determine which review agencies
are relevant to their site plan application.

fDot building addition to the existing manufacturing facility owned and operated by Supreme Flock. The
establishment of a 50'-;,- w-oodland strip along Red Bud Run: the planting of 16 White pines along the
nortinvest property line; aild the plalltlllg of nine additional While pines along the north property line are
requirements for the Imposed development. The site plan also delineates the limits of the permitted
outdoor storagC area located on the property.

We've revised the Supreme Block site plan per your comments of 10 February 2003. I've enclosed two copies
here for your approval. Specifically, the changes are:
1. We've required the existing white pine screening along the north side of the site to be enhanced to
satisfy the requirements of site plan #49-89.
2. We've required screening along the western property line like that provided along the north side.
3. We've added a note indicating this site plan approval is valid for 5 years.
4. We've identified the external fuel tanks and dumpster locations.
5. We've added a note indicating that the woodlands along the southern property line are to be
maintained for screening purposes only.
6. Distances from the southern property line to the limits of woodland preservation are provided.
7. The active and inactive buffer lines have been removed.
8. Supreme Block has 12 employees. We've provided a parking calculation for the site, accounting
for those 12 persons and the small associated retail space in the office building. Also highlighted
are the 19 existing spaces adjacent to the office.
9. Previously we forwarded approval comments from the Fire Marshal, Building Inspector and Public
Works. We did not realize FCSA comments would also be required for this building expansion. A
comment sheet has been forwarded to the FCSA and we will provide you their comments as soon as
they are received.
As I indicated in my last correspondence, Supreme Block is anxious to complete this expansion. If you have
any further comments or questions, I hope you can give me a call.

On January 21" we submitted a plan for a 2200 S.F. addition at the Supreme Block site on Tyson Drive in the
Stonewall Industrial Park. We have obtained plan approval from the Building Inspector, Fire Marshall and
Public Works. Those comment sheets are attached.
Please let me know when we can expect site plan approval so that a building permit can be issued. Supreme
Block is anxious to complete this work.

I have had the opportunity to review the above -referenced site plan which you recently subnnitted to the
L>epartnient of Planning & Development. Staffs concerns are listed below for your consideration. Please
r view these comments and then prepare a revised site plan which adequately addresses each issue. An
edited copy of the site plan is attached with this letter for your assistance.
Review Comments:
1) Nol'th Screening. The previously approved site plan details sixteen (16) white pines adjacent to
the property owned by Lenoir City Company of Virginia. Many of these trees are either dead or
not present. Please provide measures to ensure that all of the required trees are provided and
maintained in the future.
;!) NA -lest Screening. A screen similar to the one approved on the previous site plan should be
provided along the west property line to screen the outdoor storage from the adjacent property.
Please note that all evergreens should be at least four (4) feet at the time of planting.
§) Zoning Administrator Statement of Approval. Please provide a statement on the site plan
to the effect that approval is valid for five years from the date ofapproval.
4) Diesel Storage Tanlc and Dumpsters. Please identify the locations of the diesel storage tank
and all dumpsters.
5) Preservation of Woodland Stip. Please provide language on the site plan which explains that
areas of woodlands will be maintained for screening purposes only. Also, provide the precise
distance from the property lines that will he part of this woodland strip.
6) Buffer. Please remove the inactive and active buffer lines along the south property lines of both
lots.

7) Additional Parking. Based on the location and number- of parked vehicles on the site, there
appears to be a need for additional parking spaces. Please provide parking calculations which

warranted, please provide the appropriate number of parking spaces and other required
improvements.
After you have revised the site plan, please resubmit one copy so that 1 may verify the information
contained on the plan. I will need all approved review agency comment sheets and at least five copies

I've enclosed a site plan detailing the 2190 sq ft addition to the concrete block manufacturing facility at 1515
Tyson Drive in the Stonewall Industrial Park. The original site plan was approved in 1989 and from our
inspection, the site, appears to be in general conformance with that plan. The new addition will be added to the
southwest corner of the manufacturing facility. It meets the required set back and height restrictions of the M1
zoning district.
Supreme Block will not be adding employees as a result of this expansion and therefore, no additional spaces
are required. Anecdotally, it appears that adequate parking does exist for employees and customers.
I've enclosed the completed application and have asked the Building Inspector, Fire Marshal and Public Works
for comments.
