On the site plan, there is virtually no change to the footprint of the building so existing hydrant locations and fire lanes are adequate. No changes to the site are necessary for Fire and Rescue. I will remind you however that hydrants are not to be blocked at any time by construction materials or parking of construction vehicles. Also, I did a cursory review of the sprinkler system addition planned for the restaurant. When the sprinkler contractor submits his plans for permits, please show the pipe size continuously to the 4" main that is being tapped. Other than that the plan should be in total compliance as submitted. This letter is being copied for Jean Moore, Frederick County Planner to serve as site plan approval from Fire and Rescue. One parking space is required for every 100 square feet of floor area. The site plan shows 194 spaces including handicap paces. (Please correct the amount of spaces indicated in each parking area). Since these items were not shown on the original plans for Cracker Barrel and since the 450 square foot addition should not have major effects on these items, I will not ask you to include them. I had the opportunity to talk to Frederick County's Fire Marshal regarding the plan. It is necessary that the sprinkler floor plan show a "dry sidewall" adjacent to the porch addition.
