The checklist below indicates all the information that needs to be submitted as part of the site plan
application. All required information must be submitted priorto the final approval of any site plan. The
Department of Planning and Development will review the application to ensure that it is complete. If
any portion is not included or complete, the site plan application will not be accepted and returned to
the applicant(s).
Site Plan Package
'1. One set of approved comment sheets are required from the following review
agencies prior to final site plan approval. It is recommended that applicants contact
the Department of Planning and Development to determine which review agencies
are relevant to their site plan application.

To Whom It May Concern:
Please find the attached site plan drawings, for your review, of the H.P. Hood Product
Storage Addition project in Frederick County. The attached plan is a revision of a
previously approved site plan by Triad Engineering, dated 04-10-02 and approved on 05-
09-02 (site plan #14-02). The revisions per this plan are a decrease in overall building
addition size, and some minor utility and grading changes in the proposed truck clock
loading area. Essentially, the changes as Outlined could be shown on an as -built drawing
after completion. However, since the square footage of the addition was revised, the
client and Triad Engineering wanted to keep Frederick County abreast of the situation.
Given the nature Of the revisions, and since all the utilities involved are private, we do not
anticipate resubmitting the plan to the Other County agencies for review. Likewise, a
review fee is not included with this submission since the plan should be approved
administratively. However, if a review fee is warranted, the appropriate amount will be
delivered to the Planning Department immediately.

Dear Mr. Dunlap:
The Frederick County Department of Planning and Development administratively approved the above -
referenced plan on May 9, 2002. The site plan is approved for the construction of multiple improvements
to the existing H.P. Hood facility. A list of the primary improvements approved with site plan #14-02 are
listed below:
1) Proposed construction of a 50,560-square-foot automated storage building addition.
2) Proposed construction of a 1, 16 8-square-foot locker room addition.
3) Proposed construction of a new employee parking area with landscaping, striping, sidewalks, raised
islands, and curb and gutter.
4) Proposed Construction of a 20-foot gravel fire access road.
5) Delineation of the planned location for five future building additions, a future silo addition, a future
fire access road, and a future loading area.
I am providing you with nine copies of the approved site plan. Please forward these copies to the
appropriate representative(s). Be advised that the owner(s) should kept a copy of the site plan for future
reference, and an approved copy must be kept on the construction site throughout the development process.
Once site development is complete, the owner(s) should contact this office to schedule an on -site
inspection.

Following are our responses to the comments received from the Frederick Co. Dept. of
Planning and Development in the comment letter dated March 21, 2002. Please call if you
have any questions or require clarification.
1. A detailed landscape plan has been overlaid on existing page C-4. Included in the
plan are calculations (C-2), tree type and location, and planting details.
2. A pavement detail for all proposed areas to be paved has been added to sheet C-6.
3. Adequate sidewalk access has been provided from the proposed employee parking
lot to the H.P. Hood facility.
4. A reference to Section 165-24 B (4) of the Frederick County Zoning Ordinance has
been added to the General Site Plan Notes on sheet C-2.
5. The magisterial district information has been changed to reflect the Shawnee
Magisterial District.

Dear Mr. Dunlap:
Thank you for the recent submission of the above -referenced site plan. I have reviewed the site plan
and there are a few details of the plan that need to be addressed prior to approval. Staffs review
comments are listed below.
Review Comments
Landscape Plan. Please provide a detailed landscape plan on a separate page, overlaid on an
existing page, or as an inset plan on one of the existing pages. The landscape plan should
show landscape calculations for the entire site, including the proposed parking lot and loading
area expansion. The location, species of trees and shrubs, and size of trees and shrubs, and
quantity of trees and shrubs should be provided with the landscape plan.
2. Pavement Details. Please provide pavement detail for all proposed areas to be paved, such
as the proposed employee parking lot and the loading area expansion. In the previous plan,
the loading area was depicted with concrete pavement.
Sidewalks. Please provide adequate sidewalk access to and from the proposed employee
parking lot to the H.P. Hood facility.
4. Zoning Ordinance Reference. For future clarification purposes, please provide a reference
to Section 165-24 B (4) below #9 in the General Site Plan Notes section, found on Page C-2.

Thank you for the recent submission of the above -referenced site plan. I have reviewed the site plan
and there are a few details of the plan that need to be addressed prior to approval. Staffs review
comments are listed below.
Review Comments
Landscape Plan. Please provide a detailed landscape plan on a separate page, overlaid on an
existing page, or as an inset plan on one of the existing pages. The landscape plan should
show landscape calculations for the entire site, including the proposed parking lot and loading
area expansion. The location, species of trees and shrubs, and size of trees and shrubs, and
quantity of trees and shrubs should be provided with the landscape plan.
2. Pavement Details. Please provide pavement detail for all proposed areas to be paved, such
as the proposed employee parking lot and the loading area expansion. In the previous plan,
the loading area was depicted with concrete pavement.
Sidewalks. Please provide adequate sidewalk access to and from the proposed employee
parking lot to the H.P. Hood facility.
4. Zoning Ordinance Reference. For future clarification purposes, please provide a reference
to Section 165-24 B (4) below #9 in the General Site Plan Notes section, found on Page C-2.

Magisterial District. Please change the magisterial district information so it shows that the
property is in the Shawnee Magisterial District. This is because the boundary lines of the
magisterial districts were recently changed.
After you have revised the site plan, please resubmit one copy, so that I may verify the information
contained on the plan. I will need all approved review agency comment sheets and at least five copies
of the final plan for approval. Comment sheets are required from the following agencies:

The Frederick Couflty EIlgineer (Public Works)
The Frederick County Fire Marshal
The Frederick County Sanitation Authority
The Virginia Department of Transportation
