CONSTRUCTION NOTES QLNQ& 1 The contractor shall furnish all materiels, labor and equipment and perform all work including restoration for the completed 1-lstollotion of the utility systems and all other improvements shown or implied as necessary for the completed facility ready for use. Unless otherwise noted. specifications for all work to be i'i accordance with applicable Standards and Construction Specificctions of The Virginic Department o� Transportation, Virginia Department of Health, Frederick County Sanitation Authority and the contract documents. 2. The engineer has attempted to locate existing subsurface utilities-, however, such may exist `.hat are not shown. The contractor shall exercise core in this work so es to avoid damage to ary uti ities, Any damage shall be the contractor's responsibility. All dimensions, elevations and locations shall be verified in the field by each contractor prior to beginning the work. The Engineer will approve all cut sheets. 4 Any unusual subsurface conditions encountered during the course of the work shall be immediately brought to the at-,.ention of the Engineer and/or the Owner. 5 Contractor to obtain, at his expense, all permits required of this work and shall feithful:y adhere to the permit conditions imposed. 6 All grading for improvements to be confined to the project area. Any work performed offsite is the Contractor's responsibility 7 Cutsheets shall be submitted to the Engineer fcr approval prior to 'construction. All cutsheets should show existing ground elevations -it centerline of utility, structure or road, and offset huD elevation. EROSION CONTROL 1. A sand Disturbance Pe-mit will by required prior to initiating any site work. This permit can be obtained from the Frederick County Public Woks Department 2 7emPor xY and permanent e io co t of structures and methods to be in o cor d nce with the Virginia Erosior Control Guidelines and local ordincnces and to be utilized during the construction period. 3 All erosion control structures shown cr as required curing construction shall be continuously maintained trroughout the period in which areas are denuded. Areas shown to be surfaced are to have stone base installed a, the earliest possible date after establishing grade. Burning of land clearing debris requires a permit from the Fire Marshal. Burning of construction debris on site is prohibiter. 2 Access for emergency vehicles must tie maintained ct all times during construction. Temporary street signs must be posted as construction begins. Contractor must ensure that parked vehicles do not impede access tc fire h,idrants. Fire Hydrorts are not to De obstructed at any time. The location of the tap and the termination point of the lateral are to be coordinates, with the Authority's assistant engineer. 6. The Frederica County Sanitation Authority shall tap all existing waterlines. They wall furnish the materials for and make the top. The contractor must make application for and pay the cost of this work. 7. Frederick County Sanitation Authority approval of this site plan expires two (2) years from bate of approval. VIRSINIA LFEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 1 Ali work on this project shall conform to the latest editions o' the Virginia Department of Transportation (\/DOT) Road and Bridge Specifications, and Standards, The Virginio Erosion and Sediment Control Regulations and any other state, federal or loco regalotiorrs applicable. n the event of conf ict between any of these standards, specifications or pions, the most stringent shall govern. 2. All construction shall comply with the latest U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety & Heath A.dminis and VOSH Rules & Regulations. 3. When working on VDOT right-of-way, oil traffic control, wnether permanent or temporary, shall be in accordance with the current edition of VDOT's work area protection manual. Furthermore, all traffic control floggers must be certified in accordance with VDOT's January, 1994 (or latest edition of) Road & Bridge Specificat ons, Section 104.04-C. 4. Design features refatint to construction or, to regulation, control and safety of traffic may be subject to change as deemed necessary by V�OT. 5 Prior to initiation of work, Contractor shall be responsible for acquiring all necesso-y VGOT land use permits for any work on VDOT right-of-way. 6 If required by the local VDC,T Residency Office, a preconstruction conference roust be arranged and held by the engineer and/or developer with the attendance of the contractor, various County agencies, utility companies and VDOT prior to initiation of work. 7 Contractor shall notify the local VDOT Residency Office when work is to begin or cease for cny undete,mined length of tire, VDOT will also require 48 hours no'ice for any inspection. 8 The Contractor will be responsible for moirtainlrig adequate access to the project from the .adjoctjnt piblic road - way through construction and maintenance of a construction entrance in accordance with the Virgjpia Erosion & Sediment Control Handbook, Sec 3.02. Furthermore, access to other properties cffected by this project shall be maintained through construction. 9 Contractor shall ensure adequate dral-ioge is achieved and maintoined or the site durirg and at the end of construction. 10, All water and sewer lines within existing or proposed VDO' right-of-way are to have minimum 36" cover arid, when possible. to be installed under roadway drainage facilities. 11. Any unusual subsurface conditions encountered during the course of construction s-ioll be immediately wrought to the at, ention of the engineer and VDOT.
