GENERAL NOTES:

CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL:
1. ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO ANY LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY. ALL
WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT EDITION OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA EROSION AND
SEDIMENT CONTROL HANDBOOK.
2. ALL WORK SHALL BE CONFINED TO THE DESIGNATED LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTION. FOR THIS PROJECT, THE LIMITS OF
CONSTRUCTION ARE DEFINED AS PROPERTY BOUNDARIES, THE EXISTING EDGE OF PAVEMENT OF EAST CORK STREET R-O-W.
3. NO DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE DENUDED FOR MORE THAN THIRTY (30) DAYS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL STABILIZE ALL
DENUDED AREAS WITHIN SEVEN (7) DAYS AFTER THE END OF CONSTRUCTION.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT
CONTROL MEASURES. ALL MEASURES SHALL BE INSPECTED DAILY AND AFTER EACH SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL BY THE SITE
SUPERINTENDENT OR HIS REPRESENTATIVE. ANY DAMAGED STRUCTURES SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED BY THE END OF
WORK THAT DAY.
5. UPON COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION, ALL PERMANENT EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE INSTALLED.
AFTER STABILIZATION, THE TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHALL BE REMOVED AS APPROVED BY THE LOCAL
INSPECTION AUTHORITY. ALL VEGETATIVE COVER SHALL BE CHECKED REGULARLY AND ANY DAMAGED AREAS SHALL BE REPAIRED,
FERTILIZED, REPLANTED AND MULCHED AS NECESSARY.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ADEQUATE MEANS OF CLEANING TRUCKS AND OTHER CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT PRIOR TO
ENTERING THE PUBLIC R-O-W. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN CLEAN STREETS AND ALLAY
DUST AT ALL TIMES.
EXCAVATION AND GRADING:
1. ANY DEBRIS, SOIL STOCKPILES, AND ALL VEGETATION THAT MAY NEED TO BE CLEARED AND GRUBBED SHALL BE
COMPLETELY REMOVED INCLUDING THE ROOT MAT AND SHALL BE PROPERLY DISPOSED OF OFF -SITE.
2. THE TOPSOIL SHALL BE REMOVED TO ITS FULL DEPTH AND SHALL BE PROPERLY STORED OR DISPOSED OF OFF -SITE FOR
FUTURE USE ON THIS SITE OR ELSEWHERE.
3. ALL BORROW, IF APPLICABLE, FILL MATERIAL SHALL BE OBTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR AND BE APPROVED BY A CERTIFIED
GEO-TECHNICAL ENGINEER. ALL FILL MATERIAL SHALL BE PLACED IN LIFTS OF 8" OR LESS AND SHALL BE COMPACTED TO 95%
OF ASTM D-698 MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY, OR AS DIRECTED BY THE GEO-TECHNICAL ENGINEER. FILL MATERIAL MUST BE
OBTAINED FROM THE OFF -SITE OR AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER.
4. NO BLASTING SHALL BE PERMITTED WITHIN 25 FEET OF EXISTING UTILITIES OR STRUCTURES WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THE
OWNER. IF APPLICABLE, BLASTING OPERATIONS SHALL BE PERFORMED A MINIMUM OF 50 FT. BEYOND THE END OF ANY
TERMINAL UTILITY LINE.
5. ALL PLANTER AND LAWN AREAS SHALL BE BACKFILLED WITH A MINIMUM OF 6. OF TOPSOIL ALL AREAS SHALL BE GRADED
AND RAKED, PRIOR TO APPLICATION OF PERMANENT VEGETATION COVER.
UTILITIES:
1. ALL WATER, SANITARY SEWER, AND STORM SEWER CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO THE STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS

UTILITY COMPANY.
2. THE EXISTING WATER & SEWER LATERAL SHALL BE USED. NO CHANGES ARE PROPOSED FOR THE WATER & SEWER
SERVICES.
PAVING AND CONCRETE:
PAVEMENT SECTION:
1. ALL PAVED AREAS SHALL RECEIVE THE MINIMUM PAVEMENT SECTION, AS DETAILED ON THE CONSTRUCTION PLANS. ALL
COURSES SHALL BE PROPERLY FINISHED AND COMPACTED. TIE-IN JOINTS TO THE EXISTING PAVEMENT SHALL BE SAW CUT TO
ENSURE PROPER CONNECTION.
2. ALL CONCRETE FOR THIS PROJECT SHALL BE CLASS A CONCRETE WITH A MINIMUM COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF 3500 psi.
3. IF APPLICABLE, THE CONCRETE CURB SHALL BE A VDOT STANDARD CG-2 HEADER CURB AND ALL CONCRETE CURB AND
GUTTER SHALL BE VDOT STANDARD CG-6 COMBINATION CURB AND GUTTER.
4. ALL CONCRETE WALKS SHALL BE 4" IN DEPTH AND SHALL BE REINFORCED, IF APPLICABLE, AS INDICATED ON THE PLANS.
MISCELLANEOUS:
1. Fire lanes shall be delineated, as directed by the County of Frederick, Virginia fire marshal.
2. The building Addition shall comply with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (V.U.S.B.C.) and use group I
(Institutional) of the International Building Code / 2003. Other code that applies
is ICC/Ansi A 177.1-03 Usable and Accessible Buildings and Facilities. (Can utilize the 2000 edition of the VUSBC up to
Nov. 16, 2006 for the plan design)
Note: Chapter 9 IBC requires Automatic Sprinkler System throughout.
Chapter 34 IBC additions require accessible route to comply in full or owner to extend up
to 20% of cost to comply.
3. The maximum slope across the handicapped parking areas shall not exceed a 2% grade. All required egress from the
buildings shall comply with C.A.B.O. A117.1-92.
4. This site and buildings related thereto shall be subject to all fire -ratings and fire separations in accordance with section
707 of the B.O.CA. national building code.
5. Chapter 17 of the B.O.CA national building code, 1996 edition requires that the structural plans and any special
inspection (soil testing, concrete, steel, etc.) shall be performed and prepared by a professional engineer licensed in the
Commonwealth of Virginia. All related documentation shall be submitted to the building department for permit and approval.
6. A permit shall be required for any business signs and/or pole lights in the parking area of this site.
EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL GENERAL NOTES
1. All work shall be done in accordance with the current edition of the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook
and the standards and specifications of the County of Frederick, Virginia.
2. A County of Frederick Grading Permit shall be required for this project. If required by the City of Winchester, a
pre -construction meeting with the local program administrator is required prior to commencement of construction of
this project.
3. The local program administrator shall be given a one (1) week notice prior to the pre -construction conference, the
commencement of any land disturbing activity, and to the final inspection.
4. The contractor is responsible for the installation of any additional erosion control measures as may be deemed
necessary by the local program administrator.
SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL NARRATIVE
1. Project Description:
The development of this project consists of the construction of a proposed 6,208 sq. ft. (footprint), two (2) story
building addition, related driveway and parking facility expansion, site grading, and site landscaping.
2. Existing Conditions:
The 3.292 acre site is currently developed with an existing two (2) story building, paved access drive and paved parking
area with related service utilities. This lot is gentle to moderate and generally drains to the ditch along Woodys Place
Road, where the storm water is controlled and conveyed by the roadside ditch that eventually discharges into the
natural conveyance channel. The site has approximately 354.71 feet of road frontage along the existing Valley Mill Road
R-O-W and 646.59 feet of road frontage along the existing Woodys Place Road R-O-W. Access to the site will be
provided by the existing concrete entrance on Valley Mill Road.
3. Adjacent Areas:
The site is bounded on the north by the existing Valley Mill Road right-of-way and bounded on the south by the
existing Woodys Place R-O-W. The southeastern portions of the site abut an triangle -shaped, open, vacant lot that is
owned by The Commonwealth of Virginia.
4. Soils:
The soils map of Frederick County indicates the following soil types exist within this
project area.
98: Welkert Barks: (2%-7% slopes).
Clearbrook Channery Silt Loam, Class IIIw Soils, K=0.32
41 D: Welkert Barks: (15%-25% slopes).
Channery Silt Loam, Class Vle Soils, K=0.28

6. Erosion and Sediment Control Measures:
a. Erosion and Sediment Control Measures shall be installed prior to any land disturbing activities. The work shall be
confined to the designated limits of construction. For this project, the limits of construction are defined as the property
boundaries, the existing edges of pavements of Valley Mill Road and Woodys Place.
b. No disturbed areas shall be denuded for more than thirty (30) days. The contractor shall stabilize all exposed areas
within seven (7) days after the end of construction of that phase of the work. If possible, all natural vegetation and/or
mulching shall be used to protect areas exposed during development of the site. The existing vegetation along the
property lines shall remain in place and be protected during the construction process to the greatest possible extent.
c. Soil stockpiles must be stabilized or protected with sediment trapping measures to prevent soil loss. Utility trenches
located outside of paved areas shall be seeded and mulched within two (2) weeks of backfilling.
d. Upon completion of construction, all permanent erosion and sediment control measures shall be installed. After
stabilization, the temporary erosion control measures shall be removed, as approved by the local program administrator.
All vegetative cover shall be checked regularly and any damaged areas shall be repaired, fertilized, replanted, and
mulched. as needed.
a. All properties adjacent to the site shall be protected from sediment deposition. This shall be accomplished by
installing perimeter controls such as silt fence barriers, diversion dikes, or a combination of such measures, as indicated
on the plans.
f. The contractor shall be responsible for the installation and maintenance of all erosion and sediment control measures.
7. Construction Sequencing:
PHASE I:
1. Site Preparation:
Hand dig test pits over existing utilities to determine their depth and actual locations.
- Phase I Controls:
2. installation of Erosion and Sediment Control Measures:
a. Installation of protective screening around the existing utilities and facilities that need to be protected during the
construction process.
b. Installation of the construction entrance.
c. Installation of the sift fence, as indicated on the plans.
3. Site Construction Sequencing:
a. Stripping and removal of the topsoil to its full depth, as needed.
b. Rough grading of site.
c. Building Addition construction.
d. Installation of the proposed service utilities.
Phase II Controls.
e. Curb and gutter Installation.
f. Installation of the outlet protection.
g. Final Grading of site.
h. Stabilization of all lawn and slope areas.
i. Installation of base stone materials.
j. Restoration and stabilization of unpaved areas.
k. Final paving.
I. Remove erosion and sediment controls, as approved by the inspector.
8. Maintenance:
The contractor shall be responsible for the installation and maintenance of all erosion and sediment control measures.
All measures shall be inspected daily and after each significant rainfoll by the site superintendent or his representative.
Any damaged structures shall be repaired or replaced by the end of work that day.
a. The construction entrance shall be maintained so as to control the amount of soil materials that may get caught in
the stone bed. If the stone becomes clogged with soil and mud, it shall be cleaned, or removed and the stone
replaced, as may be deemed necessary. A trash rock shall be installed as part of the construction entrance
construction. If this measure fails to properly clean the construction vehicles, then a wash rack must be installed as
directed by the local program administrator.
b. The rock check dams, inlet and outlet protection devices, and the sift fencing shall be checked regularly for
deposited sediment. If sediment is trapped, it shall be cleaned carefully so as not to release the trapped sediment
downstream or on adjacent properties.
c. All seeded and sodded areas shall be checked regularly to ensure that a good stand of grass is maintained. Areas
shall be repaired, fertilized, and reseeded or resodded, as required.
Permanent Stabilization
The contractor shall stabilize all denuded land within 7 days after the end of
construction. Permanent stabilization shall be applied to areas that are to be
left dormant for more than one year. During construction of the project, soil
stockpiles shall be stabilized or protected with sediment trapping measures.
The contractor is responsible for the temporary protection and permanent
stabilization of all soil stockpiles on site as well as soil intentionally transported
from the project site. The contractor shall establish vegetation on all areas not
otherwise stabilized according the following specification:
Seedbed Preparation:
a. Scarify top 1" to 2" of soil after final grades have been achieved.
b. Add 3 tons per acre pulverized agricultural limestone(1401b/1000sf).

CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL
1. ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO ANY LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY. ALL
WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT EDITION OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA EROSION AND
SEDIMENT CONTROL HANDBOOK.
2. ALL WORK SHALL BE CONFINED TO THE DESIGNATED LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTION. FOR THIS PROJECT, THE LIMITS OF
CONSTRUCTION ARE DEFINED AS PROPERTY BOUNDARIES, THE EXISTING EDGE OF PAVEMENT OF EAST CORK STREET R-O-W.
3. NO DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE DENUDED FOR MORE THAN THIRTY (30) DAYS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL STABILIZE ALL
DENUDED AREAS WITHIN SEVEN (7) DAYS AFTER THE END OF CONSTRUCTION.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT
CONTROL MEASURES. ALL MEASURES SHALL BE INSPECTED DAILY AND AFTER EACH SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL BY THE SITE

5. UPON COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION, ALL PERMANENT EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE INSTALLED.
AFTER STABILIZATION, THE TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHALL BE REMOVED AS APPROVED BY THE LOCAL
INSPECTION AUTHORITY. ALL VEGETATIVE COVER SHALL BE CHECKED REGULARLY AND ANY DAMAGED AREAS SHALL BE REPAIRED,
FERTILIZED, REPLANTED AND MULCHED AS NECESSARY.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ADEQUATE MEANS OF CLEANING TRUCKS AND OTHER CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT PRIOR TO
ENTERING THE PUBLIC R-O-W. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN CLEAN STREETS AND ALLAY
DUST AT ALL TIMES.
EXCAVATION AND GRADING:
1. ANY DEBRIS, SOIL STOCKPILES, AND ALL VEGETATION THAT MAY NEED TO BE CLEARED AND GRUBBED SHALL BE
COMPLETELY REMOVED INCLUDING THE ROOT MAT AND SHALL BE PROPERLY DISPOSED OF OFF -SITE.
2. THE TOPSOIL SHALL BE REMOVED TO ITS FULL DEPTH AND SHALL BE PROPERLY STORED OR DISPOSED OF OFF -SITE FOR
FUTURE USE ON THIS SITE OR ELSEWHERE.
3. ALL BORROW, IF APPLICABLE, FILL MATERIAL SHALL BE OBTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR AND BE APPROVED BY A CERTIFIED
GEO-TECHNICAL ENGINEER. ALL FILL MATERIAL SHALL BE PLACED IN LIFTS OF 8" OR LESS AND SHALL BE COMPACTED TO 95%
OF ASTM D-698 MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY, OR AS DIRECTED BY THE GEO-TECHNICAL ENGINEER. FILL MATERIAL MUST BE
OBTAINED FROM THE OFF -SITE OR AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER.
4. NO BLASTING SHALL BE PERMITTED WITHIN 25 FEET OF EXISTING UTILITIES OR STRUCTURES WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THE
OWNER. IF APPLICABLE, BLASTING OPERATIONS SHALL BE PERFORMED A MINIMUM OF 50 FT. BEYOND THE END OF ANY
TERMINAL UTILITY LINE.
5. ALL PLANTER AND LAWN AREAS SHALL BE BACKFILLED WITH A MINIMUM OF 6' OF TOPSOIL ALL AREAS SHALL BE GRADED
AND RAKED, PRIOR TO APPLICATION OF PERMANENT VEGETATION COVER.
UTILITIES:
1. ALL WATER, SANITARY SEWER, AND STORM SEWER CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO THE STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS
OF THE COUNTY OF FREDERICK VIRGINIA. THE COUNTY OF FREDERICK REQUIRES THAT AS -BUILT DRAWINGS BE PREPARED AND
SUBMITTED PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROPOSED UTILITY SYSTEMS. AS -BUILT DRAWINGS SHALL BE SUBMITTED FOR ALL
WATER LINES, SANITARY SEWER LINES, AND STORM SEWER MAINS. AS -BUILT DRAWINGS SHALL CONFROM TO THE REQUIREMENTS
OF THE WINCHESTER GIS DEPARTMENT. AS -BUILT UTILITY SERVICE LINES SHALL ALSO BE SUBMITTED BY THE APPROPRIATE
UTILITY COMPANY.
2. THE EXISTING WATER & SEWER LATERAL SHALL BE USED. NO CHANGES ARE PROPOSED FOR THE WATER & SEWER
SERVICES.
PAVING AND CONCRETE:
PAVEMENT SECTION:
1. ALL PAVED AREAS SHALL RECEIVE THE MINIMUM PAVEMENT SECTION, AS DETAILED ON THE CONSTRUCTION PLANS. ALL
COURSES SHALL BE PROPERLY FINISHED AND COMPACTED. TIE-IN JOINTS TO THE EXISTING PAVEMENT SHALL BE SAW CUT TO
ENSURE PROPER CONNECTION.
2. ALL CONCRETE FOR THIS PROJECT SHALL BE CLASS A CONCRETE WITH A MINIMUM COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF 3500 psi.
3. IF APPLICABLE, THE CONCRETE CURB SHALL BE A VDOT STANDARD CG-2 HEADER CURB AND ALL CONCRETE CURB AND
GUTTER SHALL BE VDOT STANDARD CG-6 COMBINATION CURB AND GUTTER.
4. ALL CONCRETE WALKS SHALL BE 4" IN DEPTH AND SHALL BE REINFORCED, IF APPLICABLE, AS INDICATED ON THE PLANS.
MISCELLANEOUS:
1. Fire lanes shall be delineated, as directed by the County of Frederick, Virginia fire marshal.
2. The building Addition shall comply with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (V.U.S.B.C.) and use group 1
(Institutional) of the International Building Code / 2003. Other code that applies
is ICC/Ansi A 177.1-03 Usable and Accessible Buildings and Facilities. (Can utilize the 2000 edition of the VUSBC up to
Nov. 16, 2006 for the plan design)
Note: Chapter 9 IBC requires Automatic Sprinkler System throughout.
Chapter 34 IBC additions require accessible route to comply in full or owner to extend up
to 20% of cost to comply.
3. The maximum slope across the handicapped parking areas shall not exceed a 2% grade. All required egress from the
buildings shall comply with CA.B.O. A117.1-92.
4. This site and buildings related thereto shall be subject to all fire -ratings and fire separations in accordance with section
707 of the B.O.C.A. national building code.
5. Chapter 17 of the B.O.CA national building code, 1996 edition requires that the structural plans and any special
inspection (soil testing, concrete, steel, etc.) shall be performed and prepared by a professional engineer licensed in the
Commonwealth of Virginia. All related documentation shall be submitted to the building department for permit and approval.
6. A permit shall be required for any business signs and/or pole lights in the parking area of this site.
EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL GENERAL NOTES
1. All work shall be done in accordance with the current edition of the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook
and the standards and specifications of the County of Frederick, Virginia.
2. A County of Frederick Grading Permit shall be required for this project. If required by the City of Winchester, a
pre -construction meeting with the local program administrator is required prior to commencement of construction of
this project.
3. The local program administrator shall be given a one (1) week notice prior to the pre -construction conference, the
commencement of any land disturbing activity, and to the final inspection.
4. The contractor is responsible for the installation of any additional erosion control measures as may be deemed
necessary by the local program administrator.
SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL NARRATIVE
1. Project Description:
The development of this project consists of the construction of a proposed 6,208 sq. ft. (footprint), two (2) story
building addition, related driveway and parking facility expansion, site grading, and site landscaping.
2. Existing Conditions:
The 3.292 acre site is currently developed with on existing two (2) story building, paved access drive and paved parking
area with related service utilities. This lot is gentle to moderate and generally drains to the ditch along Woodys Place
Road, where the storm water is controlled and conveyed by the roadside ditch that eventually discharges into the
natural conveyance channel. The site has approximately 354.71 feet of road frontage along the existing Valley Mill Road
R-O-W and 646.59 feet of road frontage along the existing Woodys Place Road R-O-W. Access to the site will be
provided by the existing concrete entrance on Valley Mill Road.
3. Adjacent Areas:
The site is bounded on the north by the existing Valley Mill Road right-of-way and bounded on the south by the
existing Woodys Place R-O-W. The southeastern portions of the site abut an triangle -shaped, open, vacant lot that is
owned by The Commonwealth of Virginia.
4. Soils:
The soils map of Frederick County indicates the following soil types exist within this
project area.
98: Welkert Berks: (2%-7% slopes).
Clearbrook Channery Silt Loam, Class Illw Soils, K=0.32
41 D: Welkert Berks: (15%-25% slopes).
Channery Silt Loam, Class Me Soils, K=0.28
41 E: Welkert Berks: (15%-65% slopes).

6. Erosion and Sediment Control Measures:
a. Erosion and Sediment Control Measures shall be installed prior to any land disturbing activities. The work shall be
confined to the designated limits of construction. For this project, the limits of construction are defined as the property
boundaries, the existing edges of pavements of Valley Mill Road and Woodys Place.
b. No disturbed areas shall be denuded for more than thirty (30) days. The contractor shall stabilize all exposed areas
within seven (7) days after the end of construction of that phase of the work. If possible, all natural vegetation and/or
mulching shall be used to protect areas exposed during development of the site. The existing vegetation along the
property lines shall remain in place and be protected during the construction process to the greatest possible extent
c. Soil stockpiles must be stabilized or protected with sediment trapping measures to prevent soil loss. Utility trenches
located outside of paved areas shall be seeded and mulched within two (2) weeks of backfilling.
d. Upon completion of construction, all permanent erosion and sediment control measures shall be installed. After
stabilization, the temporary erosion control measures shall be removed, as approved by the local program administrator.
All vegetative cover shall be checked regularly and any damaged areas shall be repaired, fertilized, replanted, and
mulched, as needed.
e. All properties adjacent to the site shall be protected from sediment deposition. This shall be accomplished by
installing perimeter controls such as silt fence barriers, diversion dikes, or a combination of such measures, as indicated
on the plans.
f. The contractor shall be responsible for the installation and maintenance of all erosion and sediment control measures.
7. Construction Sequencing:
PHASE I:
1. Site Preparation:
Hand dig test pits over existing utilities to determine their depth and actual locations.
- Phase I Controls:
2. Installation of Erosion and Sediment Control Measures:
a. Installation of protective screening around the existing utilities and facilities that need to be protected during the
construction process.
b. Installation of the construction entrance.
c. Installation of the sift fence, as indicated on the plans.
PHASE II:
3. Site Construction Sequencing:
a. Stripping and removal of the topsoil to its full depth, as needed.
b. Rough grading of site.
c. Building Addition construction.
d. Installation of the proposed service utilities.
Phase 11 Controls.
e. Curb and gutter Installation.
f. Installation of the outlet protection.
g. Final Grading of site.
h. Stabilization of all lawn and slope areas.
i. Installation of base stone materials.
j. Restoration and stabilization of unpaved areas.
k. Final paving.
1. Remove erosion and sediment controls, as approved by the inspector.
8. Maintenance:
The contractor shall be responsible for the installation and maintenance of all erosion and sediment control measures.
All measures shall be inspected daily and after each significant rainfall by the site superintendent or his representative.
Any damaged structures shall be repaired or replaced by the end of work that day.
a. The construction entrance shall be maintained so as to control the amount of soil materials that may get caught in
the stone bed. If the stone becomes clogged with soil and mud, it shall be cleaned, or removed and the stone
replaced, as may be deemed necessary. A trash rock shall be installed as part of the construction entrance
construction. If this measure fails to properly clean the construction vehicles, then a wash rack must be installed as
directed by the local program administrator.
b. The rock check dams, inlet and outlet protection devices, and the silt fencing shall be checked regularly for
deposited sediment. If sediment is trapped, it shall be cleaned carefully so as not to release the trapped sediment
downstream or on adjacent properties.
c. All seeded and sodded areas shall be checked regularly to ensure that a good stand of gross is maintained. Areas
shall be repaired, fertilized, and reseeded or resodded, as required.
Permanent Stabilization
The contractor shall stabilize all denuded land within 7 days after the end of
construction. Permanent stabilization shall be applied to areas that are to be
left dormant for more than one year. During construction of the project, soil
stockpiles shall be stabilized or protected with sediment trapping measures.
The contractor is responsible for the temporary protection and permanent
stabilization of all soil stockpiles on site as well as soil intentionally transported
from the project site. The contractor shall establish vegetation on all areas not
otherwise stabilized according the following specification:
Seedbed Preparation:
a. Scarify top 1" to 2" of soil after final grades have been achieved.
b. Add 3 tons per acre pulverized agricultural limestone(1401b/10008f).
