The purpose of this development to place a 16,2.31 sf addition onto an existing manufacturing center a 10 acre site to be used for a sheetmetal fabrication. The existing parking areas will be relocated to accommodate the expansion, Ex.istinq Site Conditions The area for the addition is an asphalt parking lot. The new parking area will utilize an existing truck area and an area of grass and scrub trees.Drainage flows from the north to the south. All development will send drainage south to a stormwater management pond. AaLcent Parcels The surrounding areas to the east and west are state roads, the Area to the south is.3 60' private right of way and the areas to the north contain industrial warehousing. The grading plan for this project proposes all developed runoff to flow to the southwest into the stormwater management pond. Off -Site Areas All work including topsoil stockpiling will remain on site. Soils The soils types determined from the USDA's "Soils Survey of Frederick County, VA" shows Swimley (#.39B) and Oaklet Silt Loams (#32B) with rock outcroppings indicating Fredick Poplimento's, These soils have medium erodibility and runoff-. Cr,Ttical Erosion Areas This area is known for Karst topography and contains limestone outcroppings and clay that shall be managed by diversion dikes with check dams and a silt trap. Special attention should be paid for evidence of any sinkholes on this site during the construction process, Erosion & Sediment Control Measures All vegetative and structural erosion and sediment control practices shall be constructed and maintained according to minimum standards and specifications of the handbook, Structural Practices Install construction entrance (with wash rack if required by inspector) Install diversion dikes with check dams Install ditches with check dams Install culverts with inlet & outlet protection Grade site and seed all exposed surfaces immediately upon reaching final grade General Erosion and Sediment Control Notes (VESH Table 6-1 ES-1. Unless otherwise indicated, all vegetative and structural erosion and sediment control practices will be constructed and maintained according to minimum standards and specifications of the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook and Virginia Regulations 4VAC50-30 Erosion and Sediment Control Regulations, ES-2, The plan approving authority must be notified one week prior to the pre-Itonstruction conference, one week prior to the commencement of land disturbing activity, and one week prior to the final inspection. All erosion and sediment control measures are to be placed prior to or as the first step in clearing, ES-4, A copy of the approved erosion and sediment control plan shall be maintained n h it l! times. o the site at a ES-5. Prior to commencing land disturbing activities in areas other than indicated on these plans (including, but limited to, off -site borrow or waste areas), the contractor shall submit a supplementary erosion control plan to the owner for review and approval by the plan approving authority, ES-6. The contractor is responsible for installation of any additional erosion control measures necessary to prevent erosion and sedimentation as determined by the plan approving authority, ES-7. All disturbed areas are to drained to approved sediment control measures at all times during land disturbing activities and during site development until final stabilization is achieved. ES-8. During dewatering operations, water will be pumped into an approved filtering device. ES-9. The contractor shall inspect all erosion control measures periodically and after each runoff producing rainfall event. Any necessary repairs or cleanup to maintain the effectiveness of the erosion control devices shall be made immediately, General Note: The Erosion & Sediment Control Inspector will retain the right to add to or modify these erosion and sediment control measures during the construction process, within reason, to ensure adequate protection to the public and environment. SEEDING .SCHEDULE 'Section 3.32 of VESH) 1.)Topsoil will be spread at a minimum depth of 4". 2,),ou/verized agricultural limestone will be incorporated into the soil at a rate of 92 Ibs per 1000 square feet (2 tons per acre), 3.),rertilize with 10-10-10 at a rate of 23 /bs per 1000 square feet (1000 !bs per acre), 4.).Seed mix will consist of 67 % Kentucky 31 Tall Fescue and 33 '% Red Clover. 5.)Straw mulch will be applied to all seeded areas at the rate of 3500 lbs per acre and anchored with cutback, or emulsified asphalt applied at a rate of 200 gallons per acre, EROSION & SEDIMENT CONTROL STANDARDS 1. Permanent or temporary soil stabilization shall be applied to denuded areas within seven days after final grade is reached on any portion of the site. Temporary soil stabilization shall be applied within seven days to denuded areas that may not be at final grade but will remain dormant 13. When a live watercourse must be crossed by construction vehicles more than twice in any six-month period, a temporary vehicular stream crossing constructed of nonerodible material shall be provided. for longer than 30 days, Permanent stabilization shall be applied to areas that are to be left dormant for more than one year. 14, All applicable federal, state and local regulations pertaining to working in or crossing live watercourses shall 2. SCALE: I 50 ' U' 50' FILE NO. I t IGRAPHIC SCALE SHEET 4 OF 5 1/07/04 1" = 50' 0127 EROSION & SEDIMENT CONTROL NARRATIVE Project Description This site is located in the Stonewall Industrial ,Park on the west side of Lenoir Drive. The purpose of this development to place a 16,231 sf addition onto an existing manufacturing center a 10 acre site to be used for a sheetmetal fabrication. The existing parking areas will be relocated to accommodate the expansion. Exfstino Site Conditions The area for the addition is an asphalt parking lot. The new parking area will utilize an existing truck area and an area of grass and scrub trees. Drainage flows from the north to the south. All development will send drainage south to a storm water management pond. Aa_'Lcent Parcels The surrounding areas to the east and west are state roads, the Area to the south is a 60' private right of way and the areas to the north contain industrial warehousing. The grading plan for this project proposes all developed runoff to flow to the southwest into the stormwater management pond. Off -Site Areas All work including topsoil stockpiling will remain on site. Soils The soils types determined from the USDA's "Solls Survey of Frederick County, VA" shows Swimley (#39B) and Oaklet Silt Loams (#328) with rock outcroppings indicating Fredick Poplimento's. These soils have medium erodibility and runoff. Critical Erosion Areas This area is known for Karst topography and contains limestone outcroppings and clay that shall be managed by diversion dikes with check dams and a silt trap. Special attention should be paid for evidence of any sinkholes on this site during the construction process. Erosion & Sediment Control Measures Allvegetative and structural erosion and sediment control practices shall be constructed and maintained according to minimum standards and specifications of the handbook, Structural Practices Install construction entrance (with wash rack if required by inspector) Install diversion dikes with check dams Install ditches with check dams Install culverts with inlet & outlet protection Grade site and seed all exposed surfaces immediately upon reaching final grade General Erosion and Sediment Control Notes (VESH Table 6-1) ES-1. Unless otherwise indicated, all vegetative and structural erosion and sediment control practices will be constructed and maintained according to minimum standards and specifications of the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook and Virginia Regulations 4VAC50-30 tErosion and Sediment Control Regulations. ES-2. The plan approving authority must be notified one week prior to the pre -Construction conference, one week prior to the commencement of land disturbing activity, and one week prior to the final inspection. ES-3. All erosion and sediment control measures are to be placed prior to or as the first step in clearing. ES-4. A copy of the approved erosion and sediment control plan shall be main, tained on the site at all times. ES-5. Prior to commencing land disturbing activities in areas other than indicated on these plans (Including, but limited to, off -site borrow or waste areas), the contractor shall submit a supplementary erosion control plan to the owner for review and approval by the plan approving authority. ES-6. The contractor is responsible for installation of any additional erosion control measures necessary to prevent erosion and sedimentation as determined by the plan approving authority. ES-7. All disturbed areas are to drained to approved sediment control measures at all times during land disturbing activities and during site development until Final stabilization is achieved. ES-8. During dewatering operations, water will be pumped into an approved filtering device, ES-9. The contractor shall Inspect all erosion control measures periodically and after each runoff producing rainfall event. Any necessary repairs or cleanup to maintain the effectiveness of the erosion control devices shall be made immediately. General Note: The Erosion & Sediment Control Inspector- will retain the right to add to or modify these erosion and sediment control measures :during the construction process, within reason, to ensure adequate protection to the public and environment.
