The purpose of this visit was to obtain information on the proposed water storage tank for the fire suppression system. Mr. Dehaven has indicated that the fire department connection will be located on the proposed pump house. Our discussion also included the need for a fire hydrant to be supplied on the system to access water from the storage tank. The need for the fire hydrant is to provide a water supply to allow interior firefighting activities to extinguish any fire. It will also allow access to support the sprinkler system's fire pump should there be a power outage or pump failure. This hydrant is necessary as a fire sprinkler system is designed to control a fire and not necessarily extinguish it.
