1. BUILD ADDITION SHALL COMPLY WITH THE VIRGINIA UNIFORM STATEWIDE BUILDING CODE, INTERNATIONAL
EXISTING STRUCTURES CODE AND USE GROUP S, (STORAGE) OF THE INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE / 2003.
(2000 CODES CAN BE UTILIZED UNTIL NOV. 16, 2006 IF REQUESTED). THE CANOPY SHALL COMPLY WITH USE
U (UTILITY) OF IBC. OTHER CODE THAT APPLIES IS ICC/ANSI A117.1-03 ACCESSIBLE AND USABLE BUILDINGS
AND FACILITIES. CANOPY STRUCTURAL PLANS SUBMITTED FOR PERMITS SHALL BE SEALED BY A VIRGINIA DESIGN
PROFESSIONAL. SPECIAL INSPECTIONS UNDER CHAPTER 17 IBC ARE REQUIRED ON THIS TYPE STRUCTURE. (SOILS,

2. ACCESSIBILITY SHALL BE UPGRADED IN ACCORDANCE TO THE EXISTING STRUCTURES CODE (ADA 20% COST RULE).
3. IF ADDITION REQUIRES DEMOLITION OF A SECTION OF THE EXISTING STRUCTURE, THE SECTION OF THE STRUCTURES
TO BE REMOVED SHALL HAVE ASBESTOS INSPECTION AND REPORT PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF A BUILDING PERMIT.
