The plans appear satisfactory and are approved. Please advise the developer accordingly. This approval is contingent upon receipt of signalization agreement and the dedication of additional right-of-way to the Commonwealth of Virginia along the chord line at Route 642 and Marcel Drive intersection, Please provide six (6) sets of approved construction plans with signed seal for VDOT distribution. I offer the following comments: . A preconstruction conference be held by the engineer and/or developer with the attendance of the contractor, various County agencies and VDOT prior to initiation of work. . Materials used and method of construction shall apply to current observed VDOT Road & Bridge Specifications applicable during construction of this development. . Our review and comments are general in nature. Should conditions in the field exist such that additional measures are warranted, such measures shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Department prior to inclusion into the Secondary Road System. . All drainage is to be carried within the right-of-way in ditch lines or gutters along the street to a pipe or drainage easement. . The contractor shall notify VDOT when work is to begin or cease for any undetermined length of time. VDOT will also require 48 hours notice for inspections. . The appropriate land use permits shall be obtained before any work is performed on the State's right-of-way. The permit is issued by this office and will require a minimum processing fee, surety bond coverage, and the salary & expenses of a State assigned Inspector. . Any signs to be installed will be in accordance with attachments. . I suggest any utilities and/or storm sewer placed within the proposed right-of-way be backfilled completely with C.R. Type 21-B Stone. This will greatly reduce the possibility of any pavement settlement. . A copy of any/all recorded plats of dedication for drainage easements or additional right- of-way required for implementation of this proposed project should be provided to VDOT prior to issuance of any land use permit. The following conditions must be bonded at the time of approval, designed and constructed prior to a Certificate of Occupancy being issued by the County: • The 200' left turn lane with a 200' taper on west bound Route 642, with appropriate through lane transitions at the Route 787 intersection. • A 200' deceleration right turn lane with a 150' taper on the east bound Route 642 intersection with Route 787. • An outbound dedicated 200' right turn lane on Route 787 at the intersection of Route 642. • The applicant will also be required to enter into a traffic signalization agreement with VDOT and post the required bond. Determination of when the signal installation will take place will be determined by VDOT's guidelines.
