Halpin, General Partner, Monte Vista Associates, the contract purchaser and applicant, of 1600 Anderson Road, McLean, Virginia, 22101, telephone (703) 356-2400, hereby petition you to reclassify from the Agricultural District to the Industrial General (M-2) District the property described as follows: Five (5) acres as shown on the attached plat with a width of 300 feet and a length of 750 feet along Interstate Route #81, being a portion of the Edwin B. Orndorff property recorded in the Clerk's Office in Deed Book 184 on page 556. Proposed Use: This reclassification of zoning will allow the purchasers of the 220 acre tract to construct a facility for Western Union Telegraph Company, a higher and better economic use of the property. Since the five (5) acre tract is situated in and wholly sur- rounded by the remaining acreage of this farm, it has no contiguous boundaries with other landowners and therefore will not adversely affect property values in the area.
