Dear Mr. McClure:
This letter is to confirm the Frederick County Planning Commission's action at
their meeting of June 4, 1986:
Approval of Site Plan #010-86 of Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. (Stowe -Woodward) for
a 65' X 72' addition to the existing manufacturing facility located between Route
11 South and Interstate 81 in the Opequon Magisterial District.
Your site plan has been given final approval. Before any excavation or land
disturbance is undertaken, a land disturbing permit must be obtained and before
construction, a building permit must be obtained.
If you have any questions regarding this site plan, please do not hesitate to
call this office.

LOCATION: Between Route 11 South and Interstate 81
MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT: Opequon
ADJACENT LAND USE AND ZONING: Industrial and vacant land use and M-1 (Industrial
Limited) and A-2 (Agricultural General) Zoning.
PROPOSED USE AND IMPROVEMENTS: 65' X 72' addition to manufacturing facility
REVIEW EVALUATIONS:
Inspections Department - Proposed addition to be designed and built in
accordance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and applicable
referenced standards for the proposed use.
Town of Middletown - This addition does not affect appreciably any services
provided by the Town of Middletown. No objection is posed to completion of
the scheduled construction. The site plan has been retained in this office
for emergency use by the town.
VA. Dept. of Highways - As this road is not a State -maintained road, we have
no comments pertaining to the proposed entrance.
Middletown Fire Company - Existing hydrants are not adequately located to
serve this site. Recommend that new hydrant be placed as per Fire Code.
Note: Existing hydrants are on adjoining private property behind a 10'
chain -link fence.
Planning and Zoning - No objection. This plan meets all applicable zoning
and Fire Codes. Plans have been amended to reflect all comments.
STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: Approval.
