I offer the following comments: - A preconstruction conference held by the engineer and/or developer with the attendance of the contractor, various County agencies and VDOT shall be conducted prior to initiation of work. - Materials used and method of construction shall apply to current observed VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications applicable during construction of this development. - Our review and comments are general in nature; should conditions in the field exit such that additional measures are warranted, such measures shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Department prior to inclusion into the Secondary System. - Attached is a copy of the minimum requirements and data for subdivision streets prior to acceptance into the Secondary System. This is the responsibility of the developer. - All drainage is to be carried within the right-of-way in ditch lines along the street to a pipe or drainage easement. - The contractor shall notify VDOT when work is to begin or cease for any undetermined length of time. VDOT will also require 48 hours notice for inspections. - A land use permit shall be obtained before any work is performed on the State's right-of-way. - Any entrances constructed from the referenced street(s) shall meet VDOT minimum standards prior to this street being eligible for acceptance into the State's Secondary Road System.
