A 30' entrance is definitely too narrow for truck use traffic for egress and ingress onto the roadway. Sanitation Authority - No comment. Clearbrook Fire Company - No comment. Inspections Department - All construction must comply with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code. Planning and Zoning - No objection. The proposed use and plan meet all applicable site plan and zoning standards. The entrance has been enlarged as per D.O.T. comments. STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: Approval. Emmart Oil Company Frederick County Some time ago you submitted a plan to us for a proposed entrance on the above roadway. As previously explained, it is the opinion of this Office the proposed 30' entrance is entirely too narrow for the tractor -trailer tanker type equipment which will be using the proposed entrance. The entrance should be widened out to a minimum 50' entrance. It is felt the entrance way from the edge of pavement should be a minimum of 8" of stone, 5 1/2" of B-3 and 1 1/2" of S-5. To date, we have not seen any revised plans and a permit has not been applied for or approved, however, the work has commenced. THIS SPACE SHOULD BE USED FOR REVIEW COMMENTS: It is the opinion of this office, the proposed entrance is entirely too narrow for tanker type trucks for safe egress and ingress onto the roadway. It is felt the absolute minimum should be 50'. This being a tanker truck operation tractor trailer business , we could go up to as large as a 75' entrance.
