The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) approved your appeal of the determination made by the office of the Zoning Administrator in the administration of the Zoning Ordinance, pursuant to Section 165- 82D, concerning the operation of a Head Start Program in an Ml (Light Industrial) Zoning District. In approving the appeal, the BZA determined that the Head Start Program is a vocational school, identified by Standard Industrial Code (SIC) 824. This approval allows you to use the property at 444 Shady Elm Road (which formerly housed the Tri-County Virginia Opportunities Industrialization Centers, Inc.) for the Apple Country Head Start program. It is noted that the entire IDC acreage (85+ acres) is limited to a sewer capacity of 700 gallons per minute. This TIC parcel consumes some of this capacity. It is required that the anticipated water use be submitted to the City.
