Approval of Site Plan #011-87 of Super 8 Motel for a motel site.
This property is located on Route 50 East, just south of Interstate
81 in the Shawnee Magisterial District.

1.0366 Acres, Zoned B-2 (Business General)
LOCATION: North side of Route 50 East, just south of Interstate 81.
MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT: Shawnee
ADJACENT LAND USE AND ZONING: Residential and commercial land use and RP
(Residential Peformance) and B-2 (Business General) Zoning.
PROPOSED USE AND IMPROVEMENTS: motel site
REVIEW EVALUATIONS:
Highway Department - The proposal appears to be within our minimum
requirements, although it is the opinion of this office, that a 30' entrance
onto Route 50 is too narrow and should be a minimum of 40'. A permit must be
applied for and approved before doing any work on the State's right-of-way.
Sanitation Authority - This agency has no comment as site is served by the
City of Winchester.
Citv of Winchester - Sewer and water service is available.
Greenwood Fire Company - Must meet applicable fire codes. All fire lanes
need to be clearly marked and shown.
Inspections Department - Building to be designed and constructed in
accordance with VUSBC and applicable referenced standards for Use Group R-1.
Minimum of one handicap accessible unit and parking space required.
Planning and Zoning - No objection. All appropriate site plan and zoning
requirements have been met.
