This letter is to confirm the Frederick County Board of
Supervisors' action at their meeting of November 14, 1984.
The Frederick County Board of Supervisors has approved Rezoning
Application #008-84 of Jerry Updyke to rezone 7.919 acres from
A-2 (Agricultural General) to MH-1 (Mobile Home Park) located
south of Route 7, east of Winchester, between Routes 656 and 659
in the Shawnee Magisterial District.

Blue Ridge Mobile Home Park
7.919 acres to be rezoned from A-2 (Agricultural General) to
MH-1 (Mobile Home Park)
LOCATION: South of Route 7, east of Winchester, between Routes 656 and 659.
MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT: Shawnee
ADJACENT LAND USE AND ZONING: Residential , open space, and agricultural land use
and mobile home and agricultural zoning
PROPOSED USE AND IMPROVEMENTS: Expand Blue Ridge Mobile Home Park
REVIEW EVALUATIONS:
Highway Department - No objection to rezoning.
Health Department - This is a request for 5 1/2 acres that has been found
suitable for drainfields. Therefore, the Health Department has no
objections.
Greenwood Fire Company - The Greenwood Fire Company can not approve the
rezoning of Blue Ridge Mobile Home Park until some type of water system has
been provided in this area by the land owner or the Sanitation Department.
Planning and Zoning - Satisfactory
STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: Denial, based on the comments of the Greenwood Fire
Company.
PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS: Unanimous Approval.
*NOTE: At the meeting on November 7, the applicant agreed to install a pond on
the property in order to provide water for fire protection. Mr.
Cunningham of the Greenwood Fire Company was present and agreed that a
suitable pond would be sufficient to satisfy the requirements of the fire
company. Detailed construction plans for that pond will be placed on the
initial site plan for development in this area, should the Board of
Supervisors approve the rezoning.
