The contouring at the south entrance is confusing. R/W should be identified with road centerline. Also, existing and proposed easements should be indicated. Curb & Gutter types should be labeled in parking lot as either CG-6 or CG-2. DRAINAGE Verify the use of a Tc = 15 min. I feel that a Tc = 5 min. would be more appropriate. Revise storm sewer and inlet computations accordingly. DI #1 table indicates a pipe entering the structure. The site plan does not show this. Please clarify . If an additional pipe enters the system, this should be accounted for in the design computations. The proposed 15" RCP @ 0.3% ± needs to be field verified. This is proposed during the construction phase. If the invert of Ex DI-3 will give a lesser slope, the system redesign needs to be approved by the County prior to pipe installation. A note to this effect should be added to the plan. The length of "Culvert 1" in the drainage calculations is 154 feet, the profile and site plan shows the length to be 150 feet. Revise and show the correct length. Drainage easements are required. Detail for modified structure is required. Size, type and slope of the existing storm sewer line should be shown and checked for capacity to handle flow from this site. The invert at the connection to the existing sanitary main within the site should be indicated. Cleanouts at the connection to the sanitary main and 5 feet outside the building are recommended. Erosion/Sedimentation Control narrative and additional erosion/sedimentation measures are required (ie: additional silt fencing at the south entrance, a construction entrance, inlet protection, etc.). The type of construction is a branch bank office with parking lot, installation of storm sewer and other utilities underground. Existing Site Conditions Prior to construction, the site was a developable outlot of larger Food Lion/Jamesway Shopping Center, predominately open with little undergrowth. The current site is at an elevation of 770. Adjacent Areas - Most of the areas surrounding the development is commercial development. The remainder of the surrounding land is small parcels of undeveloped land. Soils - For purposes of design runoff conditions, antecedent moisture condition II (normal consideration for the mid -Atlantic region) is assumed. The soil is considered to have a moderate rate of water transmission, therefore SCS Soil Class "B" is adopted. Soils are of a terrace deposit variety with average rates of internal drainage and erosion potential. Permanent Stabilization - Seeding for permanent stabilization is specified in the V.E.S.C. Handbook. Any area denuded in which work is not proceeding for a period of 60 days or more will be stabilized by a temporary seeding in accordance with State guidelines and procedures. All areas to be seeded will receive seed application by hydroseed methods immediately upon obtaining grades. Storm Water Management Considerations - All direct drainage from the site is carried to an existing and adequate storm sewer. A proposed storm sewer system which then intercepts an existing storm main. The remainder surface flows to an existing drop inlet. i E Maintenance - AII soil erosion control structures shall be checked weekly by the contractor during this construction period and after construction is completed until grass cover is established. Sediment retained by these structures shall be continuously removed and placed in an area of the site specified, damage to soil erosion control structures shall immediately be repaired when identified by the contractor. The contractor shall cooperate with all agents of the County, the Engineer and others who may identify needed facilities or work in order to protect the environment within the subject of this report.
