This letter is to inform you that site plan #031-93 for VDO was administratively approved by the
Frederick County Department of Planning on October 13, 1993. This plan calls for the
construction of a 12 foot high covered hall, 250 square foot concrete pad for a storage building,
a 512 square foot concrete silo pad and 2, 36 foot high silos, a 572 square foot concrete pad for a
chiller room, and a concrete entrance, at an existing warehouse building.

VDO has furnished the Inspection Department with all
required information regarding the pre-engineered building for
paint storage. Since all aspects of the USBC are being
satisfied, I can approve the site plan as meeting required fire
protection. I have, however, asked VDO again for a list of the
items stored and flammability limits of the product so I can
inform our first due engine company of the hazard.

This letter is in reference to my preliminary review of the amended VDO site plan. This
site plan was originally submitted in 1988 and was designated as site plan # 04&88.
The overall concept of this plan is fine, however, there are a few items that must be
added prior to final site plan approval. I offer the following comments:
1) The zoning of the site should be indicated on the plan.
2) The use and zoning of adjoining properties should be included. /
3) The acreage of the site should be stated.
4) The setbacks should be indicated for each proposed pad/structure. f
5) The revised FAR calculation should be included.
6) The location of any additional outdoor lighting fixtures should be shown (if
applicable).
Keep in mind that we still need the official application package along with the required
agency review comments and $300 fee before this site plan can go on the bi-monthly
report to the Planning Commission. Please call with any questions about my review.
