The Born Yard
With an emphasis on candles, the Barn Yard opened
this past weekend. It is located in Clearbrook, right
behind the Old Stone Restaurant. Lynn Beightol and
one of his partners from Forecast Furniture in Win-
chester opened the shop. Beightol said candles are
the main item along with all the other pieces that go
with them such as holders and globes. Until Christ-
mas, the second floor of the barn will display
Christmas decorations. A year round supply of silk
and dried flowers, wicker furniture and a line of
furniture made in New York out of old barnwood will

be upstairs year round. After Christmas, Beightol said
he intends to put a line of handmade craft supplies on
the second floor of the barn. He did most of the work
on the building himself. It is two stories with ap-
proximately 5,000 square feet. Beightol estimated the
total cost to be approximately $75,000. It is situated
on a 21 acre tract of land in an apple orchard. In the
future, Beightol said plans call for an additional three
or four barns all carrying different lines of goods. He
added there is no firm time schedule for the additional
shops.
