New shall comply with The Virginia Building Code (VBC) 2015 for proposed Use Group.
Other Code that applies is ICC/ANSI Al 17.1-09 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities,
International Fire Code 2015, International Pool and Spa 2015, and Virginia Energy Code 2015.
Plans submitted for inground pool shall be designed by a registered design professional licensed
in the State of Virginia.
An accessible route shall be provided to common areas and pool. Accessible route shall be by
means of vehicular or by walkway.
Van accessible parking/unloading shall have a minimum of 11' width with 5' unloading area or a
minimum of 8' unloading area with an 8' width. Max slope of parking and unloading area is
1:48. Accessible transition from parking and accessible route shall comply with ANSI A117.1-
09.
Pool shall meet all requirement of the International Pool and Spa for emergency exiting, fencing,
locking and entry.
Please note the requirements in Chapter 17 of ICC for special inspection requirements on the
type of structure. (Soils, concrete etc..).
Geotech report is required per Uniform Statewide Building Code, Section 1803

The reviewed site plan is approved as noted, please place the following notes on the revised drawings;
1. Proposed 4" sanitary sewer lateral tap though 20' of pipe by Frederick Water
2. Frederick Water installation of water service and sewer lateral connection, shall include restoration to base
paving, final restoration and improvements shall by others at developer's expense
3. Water and sewer service to pool requires Frederick Water's typical fee payment of availability and lateral
connection fees.
4. Frederick water requires a separate plan submittal to reflect the required HP Protectus 3 fire meter, double
detector check (unchanged) and interior domestic water meter for all future buildings requiring fire protection
5. Any existing water or sewer lines that are unutilized will require disconnection per Frederick Water
requirements
We may have additional comments with the future revised drawings. Please send me two full size sets of the revised
drawings, the pdf and dwg cd's.
