Other codes that apply are ICC/ ANSI Al 17.1-2009 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities, International Fire Code 2015 and the Virginia Mechanical Code 2015 New addition of existing mixed use building shall meet height and area per Section 504 with allowable increases. Hazardous materials shall not exceed those allowed in T307.1.1 to prevent occupancy classification from changing to the H -Hazardous Use Group. Grinding and milling of dust and/or dust particles shall meet the requirements of International Fire Code. Control areas shall be detailed on the building plans if utilized. Building divided into fire areas in lieu of sprinkler. Combined areas shall not exceed area allowed per Section 508. All required exits shall meet ANSI A117.1-09. Exits shall terminate at a public way. An accessible route shall be provided to the facility and to the main entrance. Handicap parking shall comply with ANSI A117.1-09. Van accessible parking shall have a minimum of 11' width with 5' unloading area or a minimum of 8' unloading area with an 8' width. Maximum 2% slope required for parking and unloading. Maximum threshold at door shall not exceed 1/2". Walkways shall not exceed 5% slope. Slopes exceeding 5% shall be designed as ramps. Please note the requirements in Chapter 17 of VBC for special inspection requirements on the type of structure (Soils, concrete etc.) Geotech report is required. Also, you have requested a variance to the VESCH standards to use the following alternative erosion and sediment control measures: a. Filtrexx Compost Filer Sock, ACF Environmental Smart Fence and CRAFS. These products will be used in lieu of the silt fence and super silt fence. We approve the variance request for the use of these products. However, if these products do not achieve or protect downstream areas, traditional silt fence and super silt fence shall be used. I just received minor comments and indicated required comment from Frederick Water (there is no water or sewer connection to this warehouse building addition). I just want to send you the pdf and let you determine if you need to review or not.
