Buildings shall comply with The Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code 2012 and section
303 - A,Assembly Use Group. Other Code that applies is ICC/ANSI Al 17.1-09 Accessible and
Usable Buildings and Facilities and International Energy Code 2012. Structural plans submitted
for permit application shall be sealed by a Virginia Licensed Design Professional.
Building shall comply with height and area requirements as allowed for type of construction in
'1'503, IBC 2012. Building indicates full NFPA 13 system. Question to the location of the
FDC connection.
Main entrances into areas larger than 3000 sq ft require a vestibule per USBC/International
Energy Code.
Handicap parking shall comply with ANSI Al 17.1-09. Van accessible parkinglunloading shall
have a minimum of I P width with 5' unloading area or a minimum of 8' unloading area with
an 8' ,,vidt-h. Car unloading area shall provide a minimum of 5' unloading area. Max slope of
parking and unloading area is 1:48. Penanity signage shall be installed as required Section
1106.8
IBC 1106.6 requires HC parking to be located on the shortest accessible route of travel from
adjacent parking to the accessible building entrance. Approaches and door clearances for main
exit/entrance shall comply with ANSI Al 17.1-09. Landings shall not exceed 1":48" slope.
Walkways shall not exceed 5% (1" in 20') slope.
Accessible transition from parking and accessible route shall comply with ANSI A117.1-09.
Curb ramps shall comply with Section 406 ANSI A117.1-09.
Please provide elevations along accessible route from parking/unloading area to main
entrance.
Please note the requirements in Chapter 17 of ICC for special inspection requirements on the
type of structure.( Soils, concrete etc..). Slabs with greater than 24" gravel or 8" earth requires
an engineer design.
Signs are required to have a permit.
Grease trap located on plans
Light poles require permits and inspections
2/16/17 -- accessible route from parking/unloading to main entrance appears to meet ANSI
A117.1-09. No NFPA 13 system required. Underground Water & Sewer, and grease interceptor,
requires permits and inspections.

Dear Mr. Scoggin:
Thank you for notifying the Frederick/Winchester Health Department of your intent to open a Bojangles'
on Crock Mills Drive, Winchester, VA. The plans have been reviewed and the office issues approval of
the plans as submitted_
Before issuing a food establishment permit for the facility, the following must be completed:
1. A mernbor of our office needs to conduct a construction inspection sometime during the final
phase of the construction of the restaurant evaluating the facility in respect to the original
approved design. Specifically the flow of operations, equipment requirements, design
construction, plumbing, etc. will be assessed and any issues must be addressed.
2. At least one week before opening the restaurant, a member of our office must perform a pre
opening inspection. At this point the restaurant should be "ready" to open and evaluated as
such. Any violations found must bre corrected before a hermit can be issued.
3, Our office must receive copy of Bonjangles' employee health policy.
4. Our office must receive copy of the Certificate of Occupancy as issued by the Frederick County
Building Department.
