Other Code that applies are the International Energy Code, ICC/ANSI Al 17.1-09 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities and Virginia Rehabilitation Code. Design plans submitted for permit application shall be sealed by a Virginia Licensed Design Professional. Occupant load and fire egress plans shall be indicated on sealed plans at time of submittal. Proposed 450 sq ft boiler addition shall meet height and area for the type of construction as allowed in T503 with applicable increases. Also, addition shall conform to the construction requirements of the main building (High Hazard). Alterations shall not interfer with the original design of the facililty. An evaluation of the explosion design may need to be evaluated. Building will require a full NFPA 13 system as required for H -Hazardous Use. Boiler room shall be separated as required for incidental use as required. All required egress shall meet ANSI A117.1-09 for slopes. Processing equipment that handles hazardous material is not exempt from permitting per Section 102.3 of the USBC All required egress shall be accessible and meet ANSI Al 17-1.12 for slopes. The travel distance to the nearest restroom facility shall not exceed 500' travel distance unless approved by the Authority having Jurisdiction. Please note the requirements in Chapter 17 of IBC for special inspection requirements on the type of structure.( Soils, concrete etc..).
