RE: Conditional Use Permit #07-19 for Middletown Firearms
Dear Tyler:
The purpose of this letter is to advise your department that Middletown Firearms respectfully requests
that Conditional Use Permit Application #07-19 is formally withdrawn for consideration by Frederick
County. Travis and Ashley Dodson believe that the appropriate approach for establishing an outdoor
commercial shooting range involves consideration of another parcel in the County that is larger in
acreage and further from Interstate 81. The Dodson's and Greenway Engineering appreciate the
information shared by the Planning Commissioners during the October 16, 2019 public hearing
specific to this matter and plan to utilize this input moving forward with an alternative property in the
County for this land use. Please share this letter with the Board of Supervisors and the Planning
Commissioners and we look forward to continuing to work with the County to allow Middletown
Firearms to establish an outdoor commercial shooting range for the benefit of local law enforcement
officials and the community.
