Buildings shall comply with The Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and Sections 311, S
Storage) of the Virginia Building Code/2015. Other Code that applies are the Virginia
Mechanical Code for air change, the ICC ANSI Al 17.1-3-09 Accessible and Usable Buildings
and Facilities, 2015 Virginia Energy Code and 2012 International Fire Code.
Building shall comply with height and area as allowed per T503 with the applicable increases.
Building shall comply with IBC/USBC 903.2.9 for sprinkler requirements.
Group S-1 fire areas used for the storage of furniture shall be provided with an NFPA sprinkler
system. Please locate the FDC on the site plan
Building separation distance shall comply with T602. Exterior walls shall comply with Section
705. Please provide fire rated wall on site plan
All required exits and 60% of all public entrances shall be accessible. Please provide door
locations along perimeter of wall. Please provide elevation marks to determine accessible
route%xit requirements
Accessible parking and unloading shall be provided. Maximum slope ofparking and unloading
is 2%. Maximum slope of walkways is S%. Slopes exceeding S% shall be designed as an
accessible ramp. Question on the accessible route provided from the parking and unloading to
main entrance. Please provide elevations marks for the accessible entrance.
Building shall comply with 2015 Virginia Energy Code. All systems shall be included in the
evaluation of the building performance.
All structural plans submitted for permit application shall be sealed by a VA Design Professional.
Please note the requirements in Chapter 17 of the VBC for special inspections for this type of
structure. (soil, concrete, bolts, etc.)
1/16/19 appropriate notes added for wall rating, openings, parapet etc. All items shall be
detailed on the construction plans submitted for permitting. Elevations added for to reflect two
exits meeting remoteness that are in compliance with ANSI A 117.1

YdtoThis project has a sewer pump station that Ftil' will own. Title to the pump station site shall be granted
the Fredrick Water in fee simple absolute. Also, (1) a copy ofDEQ's Certificate to Construct, (2) a
copy of DEQ's Certificate to Operate, and (3) two copies of the FW approved O & M manual are
required. These documents must be received before service will be authorized. (4) Work cannot
commence that would connect to FW facilities or require FW inspections until the contract is returned
to lis office.
