Item 1 — Section 165-58 (RP District)
Applicant Patrick Sowers introduced a proposed text amendment to allow higher density elderly
housing in the RP District.
The first issue discussed was setbacks. Members supported a front setback of 60 feet
Much discussion by members focused on the parking requirements suggested. Members
proposed two parking spaces per unit, regardless of unit size. Members agreed to take ou the
minimum number of units. After discussion, Members supported a maximum height of 60 feet
to allow for roof treatments, but a maximum of 4 occuppiable floors.
Members were supportive of increasing the percentage of multi -family units (§165-62.1).
Members agreed with the applicant that this should be a by -right use for proffered age -restricted
developments. They were not supportive of a CUP process.
Members agreed to change the definition of age -restricted to match the state code
Members agreed that adult care facilities in the RP require a CUP and the typo will be corrected.
Item 2 — Other
Planner Eddy brought up the issue of screening of outdoor storage in industrial areas. Members
wanted to retain the current standards. Members were not supportive of relaxing the current
standards. Industrial areas contain too much junk that needs to be screened.
The meeting ended at 8:45 pm.
