ITEM #1
An Overview of the Rlarnl CamMvin4m, "este a
The Frederick County Comprehensive Policy Plan has long called for a detailed study of each Rural
Community Center. All proposed drafts of the current Rural Areas (RA) study have also called for
detailed studies of these centers. The Board of Supervisors at the Planning Commission Retreat in
February tasked the CPPS with prioritizing these studies. The CPPS is being asked to recommend
which three Rural Community Centers are most in need of immediate study. In order to facilitate
this discussion, staff has prepared the attached maps and summary sheets for each of the eleven Rural
Community Centers. The results of this ranking will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors
during their future work session on the RA study.
