Building shall comply with The Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and section 303 A -Assembly
Use group of the Virginia Building Code/2012. Other codes that apply are ICC/ ANSI A117.1-2009
Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities and International Energy Code.
Building shall maintain height and area as required under T503.
Handicap parking shall be provided as required under T1106.1(1). A total of eight spaces shall be
provided based on total parking spaces of 242. A minimum of two Van Accessible spaces shall be
provided. Accessible parking signage for van shall include $500 fine. See USBC Section 1106.8
Please provide elevation marks on all four corners of parking to determine slope. Accessible route
shall not exceed 5% slope.
Please show exits and landings. Please provide elevations for the landings. Max threshold shall not
exceed '/2" All required egress/exits shall be Accessible per ANSI A 117.1-09.
A health department approval is required for septic.
Please note the requirements in Chapter 17 of BOCA for special inspection requirements on the type of
structure ( Soils, concrete etc.) Compaction/soil bearing/soil testing shall be required for placement of
new store.

A VDOT review has been conducted for the Blue Ridge Youth Soccer Association Site Plan with a date of
December 20, 2016. Based off of the review of the drawings, the site plan is approved by our office. Please
ensure that all applicable agencies have the most recent set of approved drawings.
We offer the following general comments:
• Our review and comments are general in nature. Should details be overlooked during plan review or
conditions in the field exist such that additional measures are warranted, such measures shall be
completed to the satisfaction of the department.
• Materials used and methods of construction shall adhere to the current observed VDOT Road and
Bridge Specifications, Road and Bridge Standards, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices , and La nd
Use Permit Special Provisions.
• Any construction related changes to the approved plan must come through the design engineer to
VDOT for approval. Please allow a minimum of 5 business days for VDOT review.
• A Land Use Permit shall be obtained before any work is performed on the State's right-of-way. The
permit is issued by this office and may require application fees, the salary & expenses of a State
assigned inspector, and surety bond coverage.
