• Include following comments in the General Notes:
In accordance with In accordance with the Code of Virginia, Section 15.2-2294 and FAA
CFR Title 14 Part 77.9, crane and/or any temporary construction equipment
exceeding the max height of the proposed structure must file a separate 7460-1
for an Obstruction Evaluation / Airport Airspace Analysis. Filing with the FAA will
automatically go the Virginia Department of Aviation for their review. This is the link to
the FAA website where you can get additional information and file the request
electronically: https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/externaVportal.isp.
The FAA suggests filing at a minimum of 45 days prior to the expected start date of
construction for a study to be completed and a determination to be issued. However the
actual process can take up to 60 days for completion.
Construction equipment shall be marked with aviation obstruction flags while in
operation on Airport property at all times. Crane operations must be coordinated with
Airport Operations Manager no less than five days prior to start date.
• Aviation barricades must be kept in place around the perimeter of the construction site
on any adjacent aircraft operation areas.
• As built drawings must be submitted to the office of the Executive Director for airport
records along with an electronic copy
• Perimeter must be kept secured at all times
• Contractor is to provide list of authorized personnel allowed onto airport property
This completes our review of the proposed site plan.
