REVIEW EVALUATIONS:
Vir1linia Dept. of Transportation: The application for a Conditional Use Permit for this property
appears to a measurable impact on Route 522, the VDOT facility which would provide access to the
property. The site is accessed from a driveway on the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 522. Sight
distance was measured in the right lane as 495', well short of the 775' minimum required.
Obstructions to sight distance are the cut slope and trees along the roadside. A possible relocation of
the entrance to provide a minimum length of 250' for deceleration lane and taper may be required.
Before snaking any final comments, this office will require a complete set of site plans, drainage
calculations and traffic flow data from the I.T.E. Trip General Manual, Seventh Edition for review.
Any work performed on the State's right-of-way must be covered under a land use permit. This

permit is issued by this office and requires an inspection fee and surety bond coverage.
Fire Marshal: Entrance and emergency access to the structure need to be maintained at all times.
Roadways need to be at a width that emergency equipment can gain access to the structure. Plan
approval recommended.
Inspections Department: No comment or permit required if established under 101.7 Virginia
Uniform Statewide Building Code, Exception 7 Farm building and structures.
