4.6.1 GENERAL

ALL CAD WELD CONNECTIONS SHALL BE PERFORMED BY A CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN AND COATED WITH CARBOMASTIC 15.
ALL COMPRESSION CONNECTIONS (LONG BARREL LUG CONNECTIONS TO CONDUCTOR, CRIMP CONNECTORS, ETC.), SHALL BE PRESSED USING THE APPROPRIATE DIE AND

MINIMUM BELOW GRADE). THE RING GROUND SHALL BE EXOTHERMICALLY WELDED (CAD WELDED) TO 5/8" DIAMETER X 8'-0" LONG SOLID COPPER CLAD GROUND RODS
SPACED 16'-0" APART AND INSTALLED AT THE SAME DEPTH AS THE RING GROUND. CAD WELD CONNECTION SHALL BE "r TYPE AT TOP OF GROUND ROD.
ALL GROUND RING INSTALLATIONS SHALL HAVE ONE FEST INSPECTION WELL WHICH SHALL BE LOCATED AT A GROUND ROD WITH THE GROUND WIRE TEST LEAD VISIBLE.

THE SINGLE POINT OF GROUND REFERENCE WITHIN THE SHELTER SHALL BE THROUGH THE CELL REFERENCE GROUND BAR (CRGB). THE CRGB SHALL BE A PRE -DRILLED

SECURED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE COAX CABLE SUPPORT (ICE BRIDGE). THE CGB SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING USING 282 BARE TINNED GROUND
CONDUCTORS IN SEPARATE ?" PVC CONDUIT TO GRADE AND BONDED TO THE NEAREST BURIED GROUND ROD.
AN ANTENNA SECTOR GROUND BAR SHALL BE PROVIDED AT EACH ANTENNA SECTOR. THE GROUND BAR SHALL BE A PRE -DRILLED 2"X12"Xl/4" THICK COPPER GROUND BAR
MOUNTED ON INSULATED STANDOFFS AND INSTALLED WITHIN 10'-0" OF EACH ANTENNA SECTOR. IF ALL COAX GROUND KIT LEADS ADEQUATELY REACH TO A SINGLE
LOCATION, ONE GROUND BAR APPROPRIATELY SIZED TO ACCOMMODATE THE TOTAL NUMBER OF GROUND CONNECTIONS REQUIRED, MAY BE USED IN UEU OF SEPARATE

AWG, INSULATED, STRANDED CONTINUOUS COPPER GROUND CONDUCTOR, AND TO THE BURIED GROUND RING USING A 82 AWG BARE TINNED COPPER GROUND. BONDING
CONNECTION TO THE BURIED GROUND RING SHALL BY CAD WELDING THE CONDUCTOR TO THE NEAREST GROUND ROD.
A POLYPHASER GROUND BAR SYSTEM SHALL BE PROVIDED WITHIN THE SHELTER AT CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE CABLE ENTRY PORT. REFER TO CINGULAR WIRELESS
GROUNDING SPECIFICATION FOR DETAILS. THE POLYPHASER GROUND BAR SYSTEM SHALL BE A PRE -MANUFACTURED SERIES OF ADJUSTABLE PREDRILLED BUS BARS BOLTED
TO A FRAME AND SUSPENDED FROM THE CABLE TRAY BY MEANS OF ALL THREAD ROD FOR MOUNTING OF THE COAX POLYPHASERS. BOND EACH END OF THE GROUND BAR
TO THE CRGB USING A 86 AWG INSULATED STRANDED COPPER GROUND CONDUCTOR (2 TOTAL). ALL GROUND TERMINATIONS/GROUND LEADS AT BUS BARS SHAD. BE
TAGGED WITH A ESCRIPTION OF THE CONNECTED DEVICE
4.6.4 INTERIOR GROUNDING
A FACTORY INSTALLED INTERIOR GROUND RING (HALO GROUND) SHALL BE PROVIDED AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE SHELTER AND INSTALLED APPROXIMATELY 8'-6" ABOVE
FINISHED FLOOR. THE HALO GROUND RING SHALL CONSIST OF A CONTINUOUS 82 AWG INSULATED, STRANDED COPPER GROUND CONDUCTOR SUPPORTED FROM THE
PERIMETER WALLS EVERY 2'-0' ON CENTER USING AN INSULATED STANDOFF (T&B -rY-RAP" STANDOFF BRACKET BTC376). THE ENDS OF THE HALO GROUND RING SHALL BE
SPLICED USING A COPPER CRIMP CONNECTOR (T&B 854740 OR APPROVED EQUAL). THE HALO GROUND RING SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF BENDS
POSSIBLE, WITH THE MINIMUM BENDING RADIUS NOT TO BE LESS THAN 0'-8".
EACH CORNER OF THE HALO GROUND RING SMALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING TO INSURE A LOW IMPEDANCE GROUND PATH, A FACTORY PROVIDED 82 AWG
PIG TAIL SHALL EXTEND FROM A NONDIRECTONAL SPLICE CONNECTION OF THE HALO GROUND RING IN EACH CORNER OF THE SHELTER AND SHALL BOND TO A CONTRACTOR
INSTALLED 82 AWG TINNED COPPER GROUND LEAD EXTENDING FROM THE BURIED GROUND RING. THE TNNED GROUND LEAD SHALL EXTEND THROUGH THE SLEEVED
PENETRATIONS IN EACH CORNER OF THE SHELTER AND CONNECT TO THE INSULATED GROUND PIGTAIL USING A COPPER CRIMP CONNECTOR. PIGTAILS SHALL BE CUT TO
ELIMINATE EXCESSIVE LENGTHS.
THE HALO GROUND RING IS USED AS A LOW IMPEDANCE GROUND PATH FOR ALL NONTELECOMMUNICATIONS RELATED EQUIPMENT LOCATED WITHIN THE SHELTER. ALL
CONNECTGNS TO THE HALO GROUND RING SHALL BE BY A 86 AWG INSULATED GROUND LEAD USING A NON -DIRECTIONAL SPLICE CONNECTION UNLESS OTHERWISE
INDICATED:
- CELL REFERENCE GROUND BAR (CRGB): BONDING CONNECTION SHALL BE BY 82 AWG INSULATED STRANDED CONDUCTOR BY FACTORY.

4.6.5 CELLULAR EQUIPMENT GROUNDING
EACH CELLULAR EQUIPMENT FRAME (POWERBOARD. TELCO RACK, CELLULAR EQUIPMENT CABINETS) SHALL BE BONDED TO THE CRGB USING A 86 AWG INSULATED COPPER
GROUND CONDUCTOR (BY CONTRACTOR).
4.6.6 CABLE TRAY GROUNDING
BECAUSE OF THE INTERCONNECTING RUNS AND NOMINAL LENGTHS OF THE CABLE TRAY, THE FOLLOWING GROUNDING CONNECTIONS SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE FACTORY TO
INSURE GROUNDING CONTINUITY:
- STRAIGHT SPLICES: A 86 AWG INSULATED STRANDED COPPER BONDING JUMPER SHALL BE PROVIDED ON EACH SIDE OF THE CABLE TRAY.
- TEE JUNCTIONS: A 86 AWC INSULATED STRANDED COPPER BONDING JUMPER SHALL BE PROVIDED ON EACH SIDE OF THE CABLE TRAY TEE CONNECTION. MINIMUM
BENDING RADIUS OF THE BONDING JUMPER SHALL BE B
- ENDS: A 86 AWG INSULATED STRANDED COPPER BONDING JUMPER SHALL BE PROVIDED ONE SIDE
OF THE CABLE TRAY RUN AT EACH END. THE BONDING JUMPER SHALL CONNECT TO THE HALO GROUND RING USING A NON -DIRECTIONAL SPUCE CONNECTION.
4.6.7 EXTERIOR GROUNDING
THE FOLLOWING ITEMS SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING TO INSURE THAT THE GROUNDING SYSTEM IS AT THE SAME VOLTAGE POTENTIAL:
- SHELTER FOUNDATION RAILS: THE METAL FOUNDATION RAILS WHICH SUPPORT THE PREFABRICATED SHELTER SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING AT EACH
CORNER LOCATION. THE RAILS SHALL BE CLEAR OF PAINT TO BARE METAL AND CAD WELDED TO A 82 AWG TINNED COPPER GROUND LEAD TO THE NEAREST BURIED
GROUND ROD.
- EXTERIOR HVAC UNITS: THE METAL FRAMES OF THE THROUGH WALL HVAC UNITS SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING. EACH FRAME SHALL BE CLEAR OF
PAINT TO BARE METAL AND UTILIZING A TWO HOLE MECHANICAL CONNECTOR, BONDED TO A 82 AWG TINNED COPPER GROUND LEAD TO THE NEAREST BURIED GROUND ROD.
- CHAIN LINK FENCE: EACH CORNER OF A NEW FENCED COMPOUND SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING. WHERE THE EOUIPMENT PAD IS INSTALLED IN AN
EXISTING COMPOUND, THE NEAREST FENCE POST SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING. ALL GATES SHALL BE BONDED TO THE ADJACENT FENCE POST USING A
FLEXIBLE GROUND STRAP.
- ELECTRIC SERVICES: MAIN SERVICE DISCONNECTING MEANS SHALL BE BONDED TO THE NEAREST GROUND ROD WITH A GROUNDING ELECTRODE CONDUCTOR SIZED PER NEC
ARTICLE 250-66. ELECTRIC SERVICE EQUIPMENT AT THE EQUIPMENT PAD SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING WITH AN EQUIPMENT GROUNDING CONDUCTOR
SIZED PER NEC ARTICLE 250-122. ALL CONNECTION TO ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE BY MECHANICAL TWO HOLE. LONG BARREL CONNECTORS.

CINGULAR WIRELESS FOUNDATION. CONNECTIONS TO THE EXISTING GROUND RINGS SHALL BE MADE AT THE NEAREST GROUND ROD TO THE NEW GROUND RING. A TEST
INSPECTION WELL SHALL BE PROVIDED AT EACH EXISTING GROUND RING CONNECTION.
- EXISTING METALLIC ITEMS: EXISTING METALLIC ITEMS WITHIN THE EQUIPMENT COMPOUND SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING. SUCH ITEMS MAY BE EXISTING
FUEL TANKS, GENERATORS, METALLIC CONDUITS, ETC.
4.6.8 GROUND RESISTANCE MEASUREMENTS
THE GROUND RING SURROUNDING THE NEW EQUIPMENT PAD SHALL BE TESTED TO VERIFY THAT THE RESISTANCE TO GROUND MEASUREMENT IS 5 OHMS OR LESS, TO ALLOW
FOR A LOW IMPEDANCE GROUND PATH FOR ANY POTENTIAL FAULT.
THE GROUND RING SURROUNDING THE SHELTER FOUNDATION SHALL BE TESTED PRIOR TO ANY ADDITIONAL GROUNDING SYSTEM INTERCONNECTIONS (TELEPHONE/ELECTRIC
SERVICES, EXISTING GROUND RINGS, EXISTING FENCE POSTS, ETC.) TO ELIMINATE ANY LOOP CURRENTS. THE GROUND RING SHALL BE TESTED USING A THREE POINT "FALL
OF POTENTML METER:
FOUR POINT "FALL OF POTENTIAL- METER: TEST METHOD CALCULATES THE GROUND RESISTANCE TO FA RTH BY CIRCULATING AN AC CURRENT BETWEEN TWO AUXILIARY TEST

TOOL, BY THE SAME MANUFACTURER, TO ENSURE THAT THE CONNECTION IS PROPERLY TORQUED. CONNECTORS ARE COLOR CODED TO MATCH THE PROPER DIE AND THE DIE
CODE NUMBER SHALL BE EMBOSSED INTO THE CRIMP SURFACE BY THE DIE TO COORDINATE THAT THE PROPER TOOLS HAVE BEEN UTILIZED.
4.6.2 BURIED GROUND RING
A 82 AWG, WE. TINNED COPPER RING GROUND SHALL BE INSTALLED 24- AWAY FROM THE PERIMETER OF THE SHELTER FOUNDATION AND BELOW THE FROST UNE (30"
MINIMUM BELOW GRADE). THE RING GROUND SHALL BE EXOTHERMICALLY WELDED (CAD WELDED) TO 5/8" DIAMETER X 8'-0" LONG SOLID COPPER CLAD GROUND RODS
SPACED 16'-0" APART AND INSTALLED AT THE SAME DEPTH AS THE RING GROUND. CAD WELD CONNECTION SHALL BE "r TYPE AT TOP OF GROUND ROD.
ALL GROUND RING INSTALLATIONS SHALL HAVE ONE FEST INSPECTION WELL WHICH SHALL BE LOCATED AT A GROUND ROD WITH THE GROUND WIRE TEST LEAD VISIBLE.
INSPECTION WELL SHALL BE A 6" DIAMETER SCHEDULE 40 PVC CONDUIT AND COVER. COVER SHALL BE REMOVABLE BY HAND FOR VISUAL INSPECTION PURPOSES.
AN "XIT" CHEMICAL GROUND SYSTEM MAY BE USED IN ADDITION TO OR IN LIEU OF THE BURIED RING GROUND WHERE EXISTING SOIL CONDITIONS ARE AT HIGH OHMIC

4.6.3 GROUND BARS
THE SINGLE POINT OF GROUND REFERENCE WITHIN THE SHELTER SHALL BE THROUGH THE CELL REFERENCE GROUND BAR (CRGB). THE CRGB SHALL BE A PRE -DRILLED

COAX GROUND BARS (CCB) SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR ANTENNA COAX CABLE GROUNDING KR CONNECTIONS AT THE SHELTER END OF THE CABLE RUN AND AT THE VERTICAL
CABLE RUNS UP TO THE ANTENNA LOCATIONS. THE CGB SHALL BE A PRE -DRILLED 4-X24-XI/4- THICK COPPER GROUND BAR MOUNTED ON INSULATED STANDOFFS AND
SECURED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE COAX CABLE SUPPORT (ICE BRIDGE). THE CGB SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING USING 282 BARE TINNED GROUND

GROUNDING SPECIFICATION FOR DETAILS. THE POLYPHASER GROUND BAR SYSTEM SHALL BE A PRE -MANUFACTURED SERIES OF ADJUSTABLE PREDRILLED BUS BARS BOLTED
TO A FRAME AND SUSPENDED FROM THE CABLE TRAY BY MEANS OF ALL THREAD ROD FOR MOUNTING OF THE COAX POLYPHASERS. BOND EACH END OF THE GROUND BAR
TO THE CRGB USING A 86 AWG INSULATED STRANDED COPPER GROUND CONDUCTOR (2 TOTAL). ALL GROUND TERMINATIONS/GROUND LEADS AT BUS BARS SHAD. BE
TAGGED WITH A ESCRIPTION OF THE CONNECTED DEVICE
4.6.4 INTERIOR GROUNDING
A FACTORY INSTALLED INTERIOR GROUND RING (HALO GROUND) SHALL BE PROVIDED AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE SHELTER AND INSTALLED APPROXIMATELY 8'-6" ABOVE
FINISHED FLOOR. THE HALO GROUND RING SHALL CONSIST OF A CONTINUOUS 82 AWG INSULATED, STRANDED COPPER GROUND CONDUCTOR SUPPORTED FROM THE
PERIMETER WALLS EVERY 2'-0' ON CENTER USING AN INSULATED STANDOFF (T&B -rY-RAP" STANDOFF BRACKET BTC376). THE ENDS OF THE HALO GROUND RING SHALL BE
SPLICED USING A COPPER CRIMP CONNECTOR (T&B 854740 OR APPROVED EQUAL). THE HALO GROUND RING SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF BENDS
POSSIBLE, WITH THE MINIMUM BENDING RADIUS NOT TO BE LESS THAN 0'-8".
EACH CORNER OF THE HALO GROUND RING SMALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING TO INSURE A LOW IMPEDANCE GROUND PATH, A FACTORY PROVIDED 82 AWG
PIG TAIL SHALL EXTEND FROM A NONDIRECTONAL SPLICE CONNECTION OF THE HALO GROUND RING IN EACH CORNER OF THE SHELTER AND SHALL BOND TO A CONTRACTOR
INSTALLED 82 AWG TINNED COPPER GROUND LEAD EXTENDING FROM THE BURIED GROUND RING. THE TNNED GROUND LEAD SHALL EXTEND THROUGH THE SLEEVED
PENETRATIONS IN EACH CORNER OF THE SHELTER AND CONNECT TO THE INSULATED GROUND PIGTAIL USING A COPPER CRIMP CONNECTOR. PIGTAILS SHALL BE CUT TO
ELIMINATE EXCESSIVE LENGTHS.
THE HALO GROUND RING IS USED AS A LOW IMPEDANCE GROUND PATH FOR ALL NONTELECOMMUNICATIONS RELATED EQUIPMENT LOCATED WITHIN THE SHELTER. ALL

4.6.5 CELLULAR EQUIPMENT GROUNDING
EACH CELLULAR EQUIPMENT FRAME (POWERBOARD. TELCO RACK, CELLULAR EQUIPMENT CABINETS) SHALL BE BONDED TO THE CRGB USING A 86 AWG INSULATED COPPER
GROUND CONDUCTOR (BY CONTRACTOR).
4.6.6 CABLE TRAY GROUNDING
BECAUSE OF THE INTERCONNECTING RUNS AND NOMINAL LENGTHS OF THE CABLE TRAY, THE FOLLOWING GROUNDING CONNECTIONS SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE FACTORY TO
INSURE GROUNDING CONTINUITY:
- STRAIGHT SPLICES: A 86 AWG INSULATED STRANDED COPPER BONDING JUMPER SHALL BE PROVIDED ON EACH SIDE OF THE CABLE TRAY.
- TEE JUNCTIONS: A 86 AWC INSULATED STRANDED COPPER BONDING JUMPER SHALL BE PROVIDED ON EACH SIDE OF THE CABLE TRAY TEE CONNECTION. MINIMUM
BENDING RADIUS OF THE BONDING JUMPER SHALL BE B
- ENDS: A 86 AWG INSULATED STRANDED COPPER BONDING JUMPER SHALL BE PROVIDED ONE SIDE

4.6.7 EXTERIOR GROUNDING
THE FOLLOWING ITEMS SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING TO INSURE THAT THE GROUNDING SYSTEM IS AT THE SAME VOLTAGE POTENTIAL:
- SHELTER FOUNDATION RAILS: THE METAL FOUNDATION RAILS WHICH SUPPORT THE PREFABRICATED SHELTER SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING AT EACH
CORNER LOCATION. THE RAILS SHALL BE CLEAR OF PAINT TO BARE METAL AND CAD WELDED TO A 82 AWG TINNED COPPER GROUND LEAD TO THE NEAREST BURIED
GROUND ROD.
- EXTERIOR HVAC UNITS: THE METAL FRAMES OF THE THROUGH WALL HVAC UNITS SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING. EACH FRAME SHALL BE CLEAR OF
PAINT TO BARE METAL AND UTILIZING A TWO HOLE MECHANICAL CONNECTOR, BONDED TO A 82 AWG TINNED COPPER GROUND LEAD TO THE NEAREST BURIED GROUND ROD.
- CHAIN LINK FENCE: EACH CORNER OF A NEW FENCED COMPOUND SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING. WHERE THE EOUIPMENT PAD IS INSTALLED IN AN
EXISTING COMPOUND, THE NEAREST FENCE POST SHALL BE BONDED TO THE BURIED GROUND RING. ALL GATES SHALL BE BONDED TO THE ADJACENT FENCE POST USING A
FLEXIBLE GROUND STRAP.
- ELECTRIC SERVICES: MAIN SERVICE DISCONNECTING MEANS SHALL BE BONDED TO THE NEAREST GROUND ROD WITH A GROUNDING ELECTRODE CONDUCTOR SIZED PER NEC

4.6.8 GROUND RESISTANCE MEASUREMENTS
THE GROUND RING SURROUNDING THE NEW EQUIPMENT PAD SHALL BE TESTED TO VERIFY THAT THE RESISTANCE TO GROUND MEASUREMENT IS 5 OHMS OR LESS, TO ALLOW
FOR A LOW IMPEDANCE GROUND PATH FOR ANY POTENTIAL FAULT.
THE GROUND RING SURROUNDING THE SHELTER FOUNDATION SHALL BE TESTED PRIOR TO ANY ADDITIONAL GROUNDING SYSTEM INTERCONNECTIONS (TELEPHONE/ELECTRIC
SERVICES, EXISTING GROUND RINGS, EXISTING FENCE POSTS, ETC.) TO ELIMINATE ANY LOOP CURRENTS. THE GROUND RING SHALL BE TESTED USING A THREE POINT "FALL
OF POTENTML METER:

SERVICE EQUIPMENT CONFIGURATION WITH UTILITY COMPANY IN THE
FIELD.
4. EXISTING ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT PROVIDED WITH
SHELTER.
5. EXTEND ONE (1) - 4" PVC CONDUIT WITH (2) - 25 PAIR,
CATS CABLE AND PULLSTRINGS BELOW GRADE FROM CINGULAR
WIRELESS EQUIPMENT SHELTER TO EXISTING TELEPHONE HAND
HOLE. COORDINATE FINAL TERMINATIONS WITH CINGULAR
