Page 2 Comprehensive Plans & Programs Committee (CPPC) Meeting Minutes September 8, 2014 The CPPC members discussed that the SWSA line was an indication of intent for future development. However, changing the SWSA would not guarantee the approval of a rezoning in the future. Transportation in the area would be a big consideration in future land use decisions. The CPPC members expressed that it would be wise to include all the property in the quadrant in the SWSA modification request and to clean up the lines consistent with property lines. They stated this could be trimmed at a later stage of the process is capacity was an issue. The CPPC felt this application warranted further study and recommended that the proposed SWSA boundary take into consideration all properties in this location that have a commercial or industrial future land use designation. At this time, no changes to the proposal are anticipated. Further discussion with VDOT is anticipated as this request continues through the process. Following the conclusion of the discussion of the second item, the meeting adjourned.
