MEMORANDUM
TO:
John R. Riley, Jr., County Administrator
FROM:
SUBJECT:
Warrior Drive Surplus Property
DATE:
March 15,2005
The board of supervisors in a public hearing held Wednesday, February 9, 2005, declared the
property located at the intersection of Churchill Drive and Warrior Drive (adjacent to Lots 33 and 44 in the
Fredericktowne Estates subdivision) as surplus. Consequently, the county advertised the property for sale by
way of the sealed bid process.
On March 7, 2005, one (1) bid was received for each of the properties and is described as follows:
Lot 33
Lot 44
James and Debra Sanders
Mark and Kristyn Dudrow
$10.00
$15.00
It is our recommendation that the county accept the bids submitted for the subject property. Once the
property has been sold, the county will no longer be responsible for providing maintenance. Additionally, the
county will realize a cost savings of approximately $3,000 per year in maintenance costs.
