044-05 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS FOR WARRIOR DRIVE SURPLUS PROPERTY WHEREAS, the construction of Warrior Drive created surplus property situate at the intersection of Warrior Drive and Churchill Drive identified as Lot 33 and Lot 44, Fredericktowne Estates subdivision; and WHEREAS, at the January 12, 2005 Regular Meeting the Board of Supervisors approved a public hearing to declare said property surplus; and WHEREAS, this Board held said public hearing at its February 9, 2005 and following the hearing voted to declare the property surplus and that it be sold at a public sale; and WHEREAS, the County advertised these properties for sale by way of the sealed bid process; and WHEREAS, one bid was received for each of these two lot. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Frederick County Board of Supervisors does hereby accept the following bids for each parcel. Riley, Jr., County Administrator FROM: SUBJECT: Warrior Drive Surplus Property DATE: March 15,2005 The board of supervisors in a public hearing held Wednesday, February 9, 2005, declared the property located at the intersection of Churchill Drive and Warrior Drive (adjacent to Lots 33 and 44 in the Fredericktowne Estates subdivision) as surplus. Consequently, the county advertised the property for sale by way of the sealed bid process. On March 7, 2005, one (1) bid was received for each of the properties and is described as follows: Lot 33 Lot 44 James and Debra Sanders Mark and Kristyn Dudrow $10.00 $15.00 It is our recommendation that the county accept the bids submitted for the subject property. Once the property has been sold, the county will no longer be responsible for providing maintenance. Additionally, the county will realize a cost savings of approximately $3,000 per year in maintenance costs.
